  1. First question to be clear the coin in your hand has a scratch but when you look up the verify number on the slab the coin in the photo does not have a scratch. is this correct ?
  2. It looks close to me the % of rotation looks less obverse and more reverse that is the only thing that makes me wonder. I would say send it in to John Wexler but I think he has retired. CONECA may be the place to send it.
  3. It could be struck through cloth it looks like the marks a uniform but still a very small value to have graded. Maybe at ANACS it would not cost as much but still more than I would want to pay ... LoL
  4. That's cool, it is your choice to do as you please. I hope it grades well. Please let us know how it graded we love a nice grade
  5. You have posted only parts of the coins not the whole coin obverse and reverse please.
  6. Are you going to have this coin graded ? I would maybe put it in a coin book. At MS 65 it is only worth around $30 it will cost a lot more money to have it put in a slab.
  7. Those coins looked nice but the 1915 does have two rim hits that is my opinion is why it got the details grade. The 1912 has some hits on the reverse .The 1916 also had two rim hits but they could be considered bag marks IMO. I am not holding them so nothing I see in the photo is absolute. Just a observation
  8. Wow your coins graded very nicely. I think the standards were a lot tougher years ago. Many of the ANACS coins I have seen are graded lower than I would grade them. Gold is always harder to grade IMO so I can understand your gold coins getting a better grade in todays market.
  9. Yes I think so .I have seen some Details with a answer. Like AT. Cleaned , Improperly Cleaned. Damaged reverse and so on
  10. So they were promissory disks. Kinda like a guarantee of payment.
  11. For those who celebrate have a wonderful day.
  12. There also looks like a cud or chip above the wheat stock covering the ( E )
  13. I like ASE's. I have a full set 86-23 of ASE and just because I can. I have 1 Mint Proof. 1 MS70 NGC and 1 MS 70 DCAM PCGS . I don't think I need more than that unless it is a special deal or a special date.
  14. It works for me so far in the MS 65 to 66 range nickels . It is not as easy as it used to be and believe me I pass on a lot of coins for that special deal. I know there will be another coin coming along at some point. Morgan's are not in the 33% any more but I can still hit the 75 and the far fetched 50% on a good day. The high end coins are always tough zadok. I am still looking for that $1495 MS DE.
  15. I agree with the others. It would be cheaper on most coins to find one all ready graded a MS 70 and buy that. Keep what you have now in it's original case.
  16. I am always looking, I also set my limits on bids and offers to 33% of retail If it is a hard to find date or oddball like a DD, VAM or such I may go as high as 50 to 75 % but it better be a good one. I see some stuff going crazy, like there are a lot of people that have no clue what they are bidding on?
  17. Yes I get upset when I am bidding on a coin that only has a value of $30 and the BP is $31. Before I even bid they want 101%
  18. Congrats to your son and new daughter, enjoy your time there.
  19. It is a nice piece, the crack looks rim to rim which is always better. Nice date and clash and even looks like some luster left around some of the devices I am thinking 50 to 55.
  20. It is one of the common clashes. I may seen have a whole roll or more of them in my roll hunting.
