    It is hard to say ungraded may be worth $1 to $5 each in a Third party slab a MS68 may be worth $40 to $80. There are many of these out there already graded for cheap money. In the original roll it may be worth more to a collector.

    It is not easy to tell from the photo. If it is a raised line, it could be a crack it could also be a plating issue. It is a cool find but not worth a premium. still fun to find stuff like this.

    I have many low MS Morgans that have lots of marks and dings. I think it is the graders over all opinion of what is acceptable. I know I have a bunch of coins that I never would have graded as high as they are labeled.

    It is hard for people to admit they were fooled when it comes to a big loss of money. I have even paid more than five cents for a nickel myself a few times.

    I think it is the camera. It picks up scratches you do not normally see with a loupe. I have bought coins and then taken pictures later and found things I never saw before. And the USB scope will show you to many things you do not need to see.....

    I have been on the hunt for the last three Morgans to finish my set.1893.94 and 95 Well I was able to find a good looking 1894 O VF35 without breaking the bank. Now down to the last two.

    Those are some big prices. not crazy, but it can also depend on the bidding for the night. If there are 3 bidders fighting over a coin the price can change and go to high. I am on the auction every week and see it all the time. I always try for NGC holders but there are not as many being sold most of the time.

    This is what I talk about a lot. You have a cent where the copper plating is wearing off. Soon the zinc will rot, and the coin will disappear forever.

    I would put these in a box labeled and then move on. $120 + for grading is a big chance to take. the 59 looks like surface contamination toning to me. the 58 is questionable. Even Mikes coin has a grayer look to it.

    I think in the years to come the only thing rare will be coins that have not rotted away. Once the surface has been compromised it is ashes to ashes and dust to dust.

    Crossover would be cool if they would guaranty the same grade or better before removing it from the old holder. otherwise I will pass.

    I understand, I on the other hand will not send anything in unless it is the last resort. LoL I have been looking for this one for a while. This is not rare but try to find one that does not say SMS on the label.

    I have all the ASE's dates raw uncertified just to have the whole set. I have the changeover year 2008 in a proof and two graded MS 70 I found cheap at antique stores. To me everything else is just sales and hype.
