Hello everyone, So I came across this 1982 D penny. I was reading there are 2 types. One is bronze weighing around 3.1 grams the other copper/zinc weighing around 2.5 grams. I also read that the 2 is different in both and in the bronze one the top of the numbers line up. My penny weighs 3.10 grams, Numbers seem to line up, but the 2 is not the more curvy type. Thoughts please

Hello everyone. This 2003 D Dime has an odd cut, I ws wondering if it was PMD? the edges are not a straight cut like if it was done by tin snips or some other hand cutting device. Any thoughts?

Hello all, Here I am, once again with needing some help. I have a 2022 D Roosevelt Dime that I came across. I am not sure if what I am looking at is die deterioration or if it is something that struck through. Thoughts?

Hello once again. This penny looks like it was recently damaged, but as I look at the edge of the coin, it doesn't seem to me to be something could have happened by dropping the coin. I took sever angle pictures to help evaluate it. What is interesting to me is the way the metal is split. I believe that scrapes in the metal do not happen at the mint if there is an error. Of course I could be wrong.

Hello everyone. I am almost sure I know the answer to this question. Is this dime just plain ole damage by some sort of vise grip or pliers? This does not look like something that minting would cause.

Thank you, I will consult redbook. As much as I read up on machine doubling, I have a hard time distinguishing between maching doubling and authentic. I have seen pictures of authentic doubling and some look shelf like. I know most doubling are duplicates of the image or can appear as exaggerated bubble like appearance of leters or numbers.

Hello, First off I would like to mention a thanks for all who have responded to my last couple of posts. It has been very helpful and insightful. Now here is a new question. What is going on with this nickel? I know first off there is probably a plating issue or just simply corrosion. I was curious abour the doubling from Jefferson's brow to his crown. Secondly am I seeing a die crack going from his nose out to the rim?

Hello once again, I was reading up on a type of error "small date over large date". This type of error is NOT on this coin but something that might be similar. On the reverse looking at the word "PLURIBUS" the R looks like something happened to it. Thoughts? Is it considered a doubling?

Hello everyone. Here is what I like to know is a blob of metal near the rim called CUD or Die Break? I think if the metal is not near the rim than it is a die break. If a line appears that is raised like a ridge of a mountain and not like a valley which most likely a scartch, than it is a die crack. With that being said, I have this 1952 Wheatie that appear to have an error on the east side of the reverse going from the kernel to the edge of the rim with som blobs within the image of the stalk. Thoughts?

Hello everyone, This nickel may be PMD, maybe not. I am looking to the group to help shed some light. What looks to be a worn out coin has few things goin on. 1. It is a modern coin 200? D 2. Weight 4.87g. I understand that nickels after 64' supposed to be 5.0g +- 0.19 for tolerance. So no metal seems to be lost 3. Raised edges obv/rev are non existant. When standing on edge the rim does not have any dips or narrowing as if grinded. 4. Appears that the plating is missing? 5. Image both obv/rev is not strong and clear. 6. All wording fades into the rim Thank you.

Update - it was a type of plastic fastened to the coin. The journey continues.
