  1. Well we got a winner. Not great but it has been a while since I have picked up a war nickel.
  2. It looks like the same coin. What is the year of the coin? I do not see a clash yet?
  3. Well so far nothing special. some 60's coins and a few Westward Journey. No buffs or silver yet. This 2004 is in nice shape.
  4. If you see what Sandon posted, you will not find a 1942 D silver nickel.
  5. If your coin is a common 1881 it may only be worth $50 so you would be losing money to grade it. If it is something special like a gift from someone then that is different there is no price for that.
  6. There are also Bots QA and sometimes it looks like they pick up a tread and post a comment. I do understand some threads have good information that new people seem to use first.
  7. You will be searching a long time for a nice 42 D roll hunting. It would be better to just to get one at a dealer or online. A mule coin is when the reverse die was not the intended die to match the obverse die.
  8. Well, the girl at the bank was nice to me again. I got some home wrapped rolls to search. It is always a bit more fun than the Loomis rolls. I will post any nice finds here.
  9. Yes, the set is only just over half of them. I also have the full set of P and D mint circulated coins in coin folders. but not proofs, SMS + SP and not the 38,39, and 40 mule coins.
  10. I am working on the 300-coin full set and proofs. JP.s Nickels #35 in the NGC registry
  11. OK edhalbrook, These came in today I did get lucky on these two coins. I paid $3 each for these. I think it is cool they must have been graded around the same time. Look at the ID numbers
  12. I do not agree with everything that was said. I just posted a topic so the OP would get some idea. I thought it was cool that old hoopsters comments were in the thread.
  13. I have been working on my NGC registry set for a while now. I do find some good deals on nickels. Ten dollars will not go very far for a PR70 DCAM but you may be able to get a nice 68 or 69.
  14. Here is some reading on CAC and MAC, CAC or MAC certification is a fake | Coin Talk
  15. I think it was my suggestion to check the rims. I do get regular rolls from my bank but that is after many years of doing business with the same two bank branches. All the bank people know me, so I exchange rolls on weekly basis.
  16. No not crazy. Normal, once the zinc is exposed it starts to rot. And yours has been accelerated by some chemical.
  17. There is also the FG to look at. I think on the CAM it is farther from the steps.
  18. It looks like the zinc is deteriorating under the copper plating.
  19. It looks like there was something wrong with the die. You can see lots of polish lines in those areas
