  1. Nice lot. Looks like they snuck a couple mint tokens in there on you.
  2. Very sorry to hear about your mother. My deepest condolences to you and your family. I’m sure this group could come up with more pennies than you can imagine.
  3. Glad you were able to get them. Congrats brother.
  4. A recent add to the Nickel collection. This one resides in a Gen 8 holder with both the star and T (toned) designations. This is my 2nd coin with both designations. The holder is a bit scratched up, but if I had it reholdered it would lose the T designation.
  5. Very nice! Looks to have some blue toning hiding in it. Is that a die chip by his eye?
  6. I would have to say it is my 1951 P. This one has both color and shine. Usually it is one or the other. I like how the colors gently fade into each other and has symmetrical toning rather than the typical ring toning (which I also like). The reverse is a deep orange/magenta and has a bonus die crack to give it more character. The obverse has a nice glossy shine to it as well that covers and accentuates the color. One of the most striking coins in hand when you can move it around in the light.
  7. Nice one! Is that color on it or is that from a light?
  8. I agree. His website is pretty user friendly and makes it possible for even a novice Bust Half guy like me to be able to sift through all of those attributions. I think I got lucky having the die chip marker in the bottom curl to look for. That was the first thing I looked for after the T-l relationship. The crack in 182, vertical lines intersecting with the horizontal crossbars in the shield and big C. There was one marker I never could find. Something about a dot in the shield? I never figured that one out. Variety Plus was my confirmation. Once again, I appreciate everyones help. Thanks.
  9. Thank you Bob. I was pretty sure this was the one, but this is my first time trying to attribute a Bust Half. Appreciate the feedback.
  10. I see it now. Learn something new everyday. Cool token.
  11. Kind of looks like some type of glue or adhesive. Looks like there was an attempt to scrape it off by the chin area.
  12. Thank you everyone. I can’t wait to get this thing in hand! It’s graded AU55.
  13. I have been opening up some slabs for my Dansco album and some were easier to get open than others. Some, if I got part of the seam apart, I could get the slab apart mostly intact. I still had to get a starting point though, and my method (a pair of side cuts on the corner) did damage. Some other slabs came apart in pieces. Unless someone has a special trick or method to getting them apart clean enough to go back together, i think it would be tough to do. I obviously do not know these particular tricks and yes, there was some blood involved.
  14. Some great looking coins! That 28 Peace is a beauty! I’d say 50% turn out isn’t too shabby at all. “Full of beans” is a good thing in this case. Sorry no camera tips for you from me. I just send mine off. You will get the hang of it soon enough. I think the pics are pretty good. Congrats on another bean batch. Hope your others do well.
  15. No worries. The Mint will take this time to regroup, fix all the problems, and the next round of preorders will go smooth as eggs.
  16. Looks like the next set of pre-orders for June 1st and 7th has been postponed.
  17. Yea that’s no good. Get you all fired up and pull the rug out. You needed a trailer? How big is this thing?
  18. Now that would be something if you could end up with the tokens and the register. Nice little historical family display.
  19. That is very cool that they have some family history to them for you. Best of luck.
  20. Good luck my friend. Hope you get them.
  21. Thank you Mr. Lange. I appreciate the help.
  22. I didn’t want to keep clogging up the US acquisition thread, so I started this one. Thanks to @AcesKings for your help. That website was awesome! I was trying to figure out the die marriage for this coin, and think I may have it. I would like any feedback if I am right or wrong, but DO NOT want the answer if I am wrong. I will continue to research. I believe this is O-126, R2 Obverse 19, Reverse U. I’m hoping someone can confirm or deny that this is correct. Thanks for any help.
  23. Thank you. Much appreciated. I think I was there at one point. Thanks again.
