I like them both but I would probably go with the 06.

After all that "great looking stuff", how about something that's truly awful looking but nevertheless interesting? This is an 1801 half dime that I purchased at a local coin auction in 1999. It is the only Draped Bust, Heraldic Eagle half dime that I've acquired in over fifty years of collecting. Half dimes are in my experience the hardest denomination of this design type to obtain. Although it is battered and abused, it is one of those coins that I wish could speak so that I could hear the stories it could tell, perhaps including being stepped on by a horse! I submitted it to NGC earlier this year in the hope of using it to fill some type set registry slots, but NGC concluded that it had an "altered surface" and would not grade or encapsulate it. At least I am able to share its photo here.
I would say my surfaces will be altered too at the age of 221. Great piece. I like anything with that reverse. Thanks for posting it.

I was just watching an ANA video with Rod Gillis the other day about toning and he mentioned that a lot of the Columbians turned dark. Your coin reminded me of that. Here is that video if anyone wants to watch it.

Only 2 simple rules for this thread.
1. Must have a face value of 5 cents.
OR
2. Made from nickel alloy.
We have a silver thread and a copper thread. I thought it was about time to give nickel some love. Post what ya got. Foreign or domestic, old or new, half dimes, 3 cent nickels, Buffs, Jeffs, Libs, etc.

Congratulations on your most recent catch! I have a 2/0 coin but it's a 🐓 and they don't count.
Thanks. I’m sure your rooster is worth a bit more than this thing here.

Nice low pop coin JP. It is quite a jump in price but when there aren’t that many examples, the price goes up. Nice score.

Woodies? You're not old enough to remember "Woodies"! Those stationwagons with the wooden trim were referred to universally, as Woodies. If not cars, what were you referring to? 🤔
I apologize. I didn’t answer your original question. Woodie or Woody. I’ve seen it both ways.

Thanks GBrad. This is actually the first slabbed Lincoln I ever bought. I don’t have very much copper in my collection. I just finally had Joe image this coin and several others last week. I don’t think I will ever be done with the Jeffs. I appreciate it brother and I hope you are doing well.
Post your 5 cent pieces.
