  1. These are problem coins I bought when I first started. Ive been planning on replacing them for a long time. Thats the problem. I got in to big of a hurry and bought the first thing on Ebay. Now I got some that are bothering me. I plan on buying more online to replace them. We dont have any local coin shops so Im pretty much stuck buying online. Wish I had the time and money to go to shows but I cant get away from work long enough. When I do Im to broke to go. Im not worried about losing on selling the ones Im going to. I know im gonna lose on them. I just like to get some of my money back to buy a better example. Also these arent real big money coins like the DEs. If they were Id probably be more worried about it. They are very common 1950s quarters.
  2. Its getting ready to get rough here. Its right on the edge of us and supposed to get bad here directly. My niece is about to go in labor at anytime now. Im the only one around close with a 4x4 so they all dedicated me to drive her to hospital if she does. She lost her mucus plug about a week ago so it can go at any moment. I figured it get slick then she will go about the luck.
  3. Ive over paid a few times to get a coin I really wanted. If I ever upgrade a few of those Ill probably never get back what I paid neither.
  4. Coin was alot nicer than I thought it was. It may even qualify for a, "FULL SPLIT BEAK" sticker from MAC.
  5. I see it now. I thought it was a regular 1880 at first also.
  6. I really like them as a buyer. Ive bought several coins from them. The biggest part of my registry sets came from GC. Ive never attempted to sell through them though. Ive been thinking about digging all my coins out I want to upgrade and replace and trying to sell through them.
  7. Ill update it again once the plastx and 3000 grit paper comes in and Im able to finish it. Ill add pics of the obverse and reverse. Note I had to wet the surface and the paper where it was so fine to keep the plastic cleaned out of the grit.
  8. I done some playing around with the bad slab today. All I could find was 2000 grit paper today in the whole city of Morehead. Had to order some 3000 online. I came home just to mess with it a bit. All I done was started with 1000. Then hit it with 2000. Then very very very lightly barley buffed it with a dremel. It already looks much better. I only done the obverse for now. I believe it will be very nice once the 3000 grit and the plastx come in where I can fine tune it. Saved me from having to get this coin reholdered. So far anyways. Heres a before and after. The before picture is not out of focus. It was really that bad. Dont know what the previous owner done to scuff it that bad.
  9. Thank you Mr. Bill. Have a wonderful Christmas my friend. Hope you pull some Carson Cities or something special out of your stocking come Sunday morning. If not still have a wonderful and blessed day.
  10. Someone could have cleaned it before you got it back in change. May have come out of someones dirty cup holder in their car or anything. Hard to say. Good luck on it. I really hope you have a winner. That would be a cool find.
  11. I was wondering if your coins dont sell in auction what do they charge you per coin. I plan on doing some upgrading soon and I got 5 or 6 GWs I plan on selling to help pay on the ones Im replacing. A handful of my regretful purchases when I first started collecting them. They may not bring much but ill be happy if I can get part of it back. Not looking to make a huge profit or nothing like that. I dont even consider myself a seller. I consider myself a collector. Just like to replace a few problem coins. Get a few bucks back to put towards the replacements
  12. I dont think it even has strike through. I seriously dont think the label says it does neither or he would have been quick to show proof. If it is struck through its somewhere else on the coin. Its not that spot. Just another person who is mad because no one will agree that its something its not.
  13. Do they still use emery wheels to polish dies. Of not when did they stop using them.
  14. If u get it authenicated please share the results with us. I really hope you got a winner.
  15. They need to do something to the dies that strike the dimes. They are pitiful. Every other one has some kind of die chip on it somewhere. The mint is lacking on quality control very bad. They seem to overuse the dies quite often also.
  16. Same here. I just go straight for whatever type coins Im looking for. I never look on the homepage.
  17. I just looked at his art on the link you provided. Hes very talented. To bad he didnt have any GWs. Maybe in the near future. Hes sure good.
  18. I had something simular happen on a brand new 2019 ASE. Looks like some corrosive chemical or material dropped on it at the mint. If I can find a picture of it ill share. I bought this coin straight from the mint.
  19. Looks like some kind of corrosion.
  20. I really like that little siver ancient with the carrige and horses. I dont know what it is or how much its worth. I just like it. Looks like a very nice little hoard. Nice additions.
  21. A few of the little small towns in our area the courts are very corrupt. We have judges who are hooked on cocaine and all sorts of stuff. Around our area its all about who you know wether you get a fair trial or not. My particular county is not as bad but theres 2 nearby counties that are awful.
