  1. I agree. I see newly minted coins with all the MS shiny luster, only to be let down when magnified. What do they rinse the coins with at the mint anyways? Finding a LOT of spotting too.
  2. I have so far found four 2019-D dimes that I would submit for grading. The 2019-D dime I submitted last year graded at MS-65 FB and the 2020-D I sent along with it graded at MS-66 FB. Disclaimer: I am NOT suggesting to anyone to submit their coins for grading. I was testing my own personal grading skills.
  3. Must be the dies at the Philadelphia mint only. My lone Denver 2020 Tallgrass quarter MS keeper shows none of the above line breaks or wing cuds.
  4. Hi Karen. I'm Mike. Have you see this website? https://www.ipgp.fr/en/psn/measurement-of-radium-concentration-in-water I have had this glass paperweight for decades that was my rockhound grandfather's. If I remember correctly, the gray stone in the middle is uranium.
  5. Have coins ever been made using Radium? Radium is an alkaline earth metal. Google search. Radium has a melting point of 700°C, boiling point of 1140°C, specific gravity estimated to be 5, and valence of 2.
  6. There are 3 trusted TPG's. NGC, PCGS and ANACS. INB (International Numismatic Bureau) was mentioned in another thread last week and google searched them. Could not find website and the reviews are terrible.
  7. Could not find your ebay store. Add a link to it here if you can. Are you selling both Canadian and U.S. coins?.
  8. I love clad quarters. There are affordable high value TPG graded clad quarters out there at MS65-66. I won three at auction yesterday for $50 including shipping. Their value is at $145. It would have cost me a lot more to send my own three quarters in for grading.
  9. It looks like President Trump was the model for Washington on the reverse. This quarter was supposed to have been released into circulation earler this month.
  10. Did you have them put in an NGC holder and labeled?
  11. Just so we are clear here, I am not a moderator, never will be. My username is derived from modified, as in automobile. But hey, what about those shiny 2020 and 2021 coins showing up in pocket change?
  12. Let's hope that the OP was venting over getting lower than expected grades and that this subject does not get mentioned again.
  13. This thread has become much better than watching General Hospital. I only read CT if it pops up in a google search.
  14. I have some questions. Do you have an eBay store? I'd like to check it out. How is the Canadian coin market doing? How are your sales to the U.S.? I do not like to ship outside of the U.S. because of cost and required paperwork. I have found Canadian coins in coinstar and coin rolls. I hope to be a Canadian thousandaire some day.
  15. If it grades at PO1, I would buy it for my lowball registry.
  16. Tommy, sending your quarter in for grading is your decision to make. We all have differing numismatic collecting styles, experience and opinions here.
  17. The 22 cent that is referenced by Quintus is in a different thread, asking for grades.
  18. The VDB initials are not visible in the pic. Isn't that a factor to consider in cent authentication and grading?
  19. Good catch. The 1970-S I have, the VDB has some wear, but it is there.
  20. Interested to know where the OP found these coins also. They would grade MS67 at the highest in my opinion.
  21. Tommy, it looks like PMD (Post Mint Damage) to me. Post pics of the obverse side (front or heads). Do not to use Etsy for coin collecting advice.
  22. There are 2 sets of intitials on the reverse of the 2020 American Samoa quarter. Never noticed before. Sculptor: Phebe Hemphill, Medallic Artist Designer: Richard Masters, Artistic Infusion Program
  23. Also have been searching quarter rolls and finding beat up newer issues too. Only one 2021-D Tuskegee quarter so far that would grade MS65-66 so far. So many have the eye appeal, strike and mint luster, but once under magnification, they wouldn't grade high enough for me to keep. I did score a couple of nice state quarters in a roll the other day. .
