  1. @VKurtB "Surely you can't be serious." lol. Quote from Airplane the movie. Anyways, thanks for another lesson learned. These slabs come with non-permanent cardboard labels and I will take the SMS off the new labels.
  2. @powermad5000 lol. I thought you were joking about searching your drummer boy bag. @Uriaha and you have the only two known to exist. They are getting harder to find in good condition. @Hoghead515 should search his drummer boy hoard.
  3. @EagleRJO Thanks for your post. I really don't know how many coins like @Uriaha are in the Cherry Pickers Guide. I do know that the latest edition has been printed or about to be. Do you know if coins like this are listed?
  4. @powermad5000 lol. I checked my Denver Mint drummer boys today. No die breaks. @Uriaha may have something rare and maybe submit it to the Cherry Pickers Guide. I got my 1976-S mint proof set today. Very happy except for the nickel not having clear steps. I have a 1976-D in a 2x2 that has better steps.
  5. @Uriaha Thanks for taking the time to search for this quarter. Now I need to.go through my hoard to see if I have any with this die break.
  6. @powermad5000 do you have the 1976-S or silver proof mint set? I just ordered one from Ebay and I should have it any day now. I did have a graded silver quarter but have since sold it. I don't have a bag of them but have a tube that I put them in. Thanks, MikeH
  7. @powermad5000 Is the obverse in good condition? I collect every 1976 coin I can find that is in fair or better condition. I graduated high school in 1976. ~Kudos MikeH~
  8. Hi @Mr.Bill347 Congratulations for your set collection. I'm just getting started and buying sets as I find them. Yes, the 2021 set me back a fistful of dollars. I put the five coins from that cracked holder into individual 2x3 slabs.Yes, I have noticed that the 1950 and earlier sets are pricey. ~MikeH~
  9. Replacement 2021-S mint set came in the mail today from MCM and is in perfect shape. I have two more proof sets that were ordered from Ebay. 1976-S and 1982-S. Now to find the 2020-S proof set.
  10. I ended up purchasing two mint sets today from Ebay. 1976-S and 1982-S. I also tried to bid on a proof set at Heritage but I have moved and my address was not changed in their system. They had several."unkown year" wax packs at auction. I googled the 1936 proof set also and they are being sold in separate non mint coins. I'm wondering if any collectors have the intact 1936 proof set.
  11. @EagleRJO Thanks. APMEX did pop up in a search. I ordered a replacement 2021-S Proof Set from MCM.
  12. @VKurtB Thanks for the not buying old stock from the mint info. I just started collecting the clad mint proof sets and working back from 2023.
  13. Thanks @Hoghead515 My bad luck did cross my mind when I took the holder's out of their box and plastic chips fell out. The box has zero damage.
  14. Thanks @Coinbuf. I do have some 2x3 slabs and may use them for the five coins.I do need to order the half dollar and dollar inserts.
  15. Received my order today of a 2021-S Proof Set from the US Mint and the five coin set part is damaged. The plastic case Is cracked. The US Mint terms for returns is a long drawn out process. I decided to keep it and order another proof set from another vendor, US Coin Mart. Should I crack the case and put the coins in 2x2's or just leave them as is? Pic to follow.
  16. I live on the west coast and rarely find Philadelphia mint coins in my change and if I do, they are not worth saving. I do hope to see someone here finds a few of these quarters.
  17. Did you see the picture of the obverse? I was in agreement with you until I scrolled past the lead picture of the reverse.
  18. Sorry for the mundane post but the newbie threads seemed a bit boring to me the last few days. The article mentioned the quarters were Philadelphia mint and just missed the deadline for the Cherry.pickers guide.

  20. I just purchased my first proof set from the US Mint. 2023, clad, s minted. I went back to purchase the 2022 proof set but they were sold out. Found a proof set on Amazon but close to 3x the regular mint price. Is this normal for proof sets?
  21. Im glad to see all of you too! Time is flying by. I ended up buying Whitman coin tubes and a quarter cardboard bank $500 box from Wizard coin supply. I inherited most of my Dad's coin collection and he had close to $500 of loose state quarters that I went through and rolled up. Also filled up most of an state quarter album that he never got around to and a tube of BU to MS state quarters. He had a lot of silver dollars and franklin halves that disappeared after we moved him into assisted living. We think he gave them to a lady friend he met there. lol.
  22. Hi Lem E! The roll boxes that you are using are really nice. Where did you get them?
