  1. This is what an IHC looks like when pressed.
  2. Save it for the next time you visit Disneyland or an amusement park and put it in one of those coin roller machines that elongates cents. Makes for a nice collectible exonumia souvenir.
  3. Every nickel in that 2003-D mint roll had full steps. I only kept seven of them out of that roll I think would grade MS65 or better. The bad condition nickels have been returned to circulation.
  4. Wikipedia actually lists collecting credit cards on their exonumia page under the modern item umbrella. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exonumia I got four Lord Marcovan elongated coins the other day in a trade/swap and was googling around.
  5. Nice. I would like to think it is a FS. Did you find your nickel in pocket change? I recently opened a mint roll of 2003-D nickels and found 7 out of 40 FS keepers.
  6. Cash transactions were not allowed at The Los Angeles Rams/Chargers preseason game yesterday at the new Sofi stadium. Cashless may be coming faster than the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.
  7. Here is a 1860 Type 2 VG8 that is coming my way from a swap/trade group.
  8. Anybody here use usacoinbook.com for checking raw coin values? I have been researching trading/swapping my extra D's for P's coinage to fill some holes. They also have listings for foreign coins and have auction listings there too.
  9. Hi Rick, I have one 2014-D and seven 2021-D's if interested in trading. Your Roosie registry is awesome. Thanks, Mike (Modwriter)
  10. I am looking to straight swap/trade my extra Denver mint coins that I have in 2x2's for Philadelphia minted cents, nickels, dimes, quarters. 2014-D and newer. I do not find Philadelphia minted coins here in southern California in good condition. The coins I have submitted for grading come back MS65-66 and these extras are in that grade range.
  11. The 1958-P 1C: 875,652 minted. The DCAM is valued at $12,000. It is noted also that 1950-1958-P 1C have been taken out of mint sets.
  12. Thanks Quintus. I also got a 57 and gave it to my life- long non collector buddy. Our birth years. This LCS is in "Old Town" Temecula where they have western gun fight reenactments.
  13. One of the coin shops here had a box of 2003-D Jefferson nickel mint rolls on their counter. Purchased a roll for $6. Maybe one or two maybe MS66+ FS. The listed value is $250 at that grade, and only two have graded at MS67FS with a $1,800 valuation. It is tempting, but have so far resisted submitting.
  14. Nice GW. I submitted a 1966 about the same condition, without the obverse scratches, that graded at XF45.
  15. @Quintus Arrius Thanks for the compliment. lol. Nice to hear from you too. I guess I'm still remembered for my past "inappropriate" humor also. If any of the coins I had submitted last year graded MS68+, I would still be submitting, but they came back MS 65-66 and one XF45. I am happy for now saving and collecting in 2x2's. I actually enjoy the craftsmanship, i.e. the coin placement, stapling and labeling. I have to visit my LCS because I got a Kennedy half in change today and ended up buying the remaining eight and need 2x2's for three of them. I have much to learn about Kennedy half dollars now.
  16. Hello Quintus, my 1958 proof cent is still in its 2x2, along with few other gradeable cents, nickels, dimes, and quarters that I find in pocket change. Found a beat up 64-D dime today only because the vending machine rejected it. I was after a Otis Spunkmeyer choco chip cookie. Yes, the 64-D dime went into a 2x2. If it graded at PO1 I would be happy but it might get a no grade Genuine Details also. Maybe someday.
  17. @Mr.Bill347 Nice! Littleton is selling a complete 112 P and D Mint NP quarter set for $220. I very rarely see coins from the Philadelphia mint here in Southern California.
  18. @Mr.Bill347Do you know where you found your 2017 Eliis Island quarter? It is beautiful.
  19. I'm sure the numbered tags were used for immigrant record keeping at Ellis Island. If remembering correctly, the young Vito Corleone in Godfather Part 2 was tagged. Thanks for pointing the tag out. I have not noticed the tag number in the design before.
  20. This is the lead article. Microchips in currency? Could we be seeing the end of minting coins for circulation more sooner than later? https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-coins/currency-experts-say-cryptonotes-are-in-our-future
  21. @GBrad yes, a long debated/wondering question of mine too. A bank manager told me last year after a big coin roll dump of mine that they "send the rolls back". I didn't press the subject as to where they send them back to. I'm going to ask next time.
