  1. No. It's actually a pretty good movie. It's about how they get sick from the radium because they are always licking the tip of the brushes they use to paint the faces of the watches. Radium Girls
  2. There's a movie about this. It's called Radium Girls. I believe it's on Netflix.
  3. Say you were to go to the doctor, complaining of a sore shoulder, and the doctor told you that there was nothing wrong he could see and sent you on your way. He did not find the cause of your pain. So are you just going to ignore his bill when it comes in the mail? You are paying for a service, even if that service does not give you the results or findings you were looking for. I am sure the coins with the stated values above are not going to be assigned to a grader who has been there for 6 months. At that declaration of value, I am sure these were assigned to a senior grader with tons of experience, AND with a niche set of coins as well. You have to pay for the service and expertise. You're not only paying for the actual act of the grading, but for the years of experience it took the grader to get to the experience level to be able to spot fakes.
  4. Not sure where you are getting that. If you read my post, I said the color in the slab photos (the second pair of images) are nowhere near what the True View images are (the first pair of images):
  5. True View images, which the first two are, are taken before they are slabbed. The second two images, which were taken by Heritage, are slabbed. Therefore, the slab definitely got in the way.
  6. That's the current bid and there are still 8 days to go in the auction. I think it will go higher as well. I know the slab causes some issues with photography, but the colors in the slab photos are nowhere near what the True View images are.
  7. Using your example, the 2021 Congratulation Set ASE is a West Point proof silver eagle. The 2021 proof silver eagle that came in the nice blue box is a West Point proof silver eagle. Literally the only difference between the 2 is the packaing they were issued in. They are the same coin. Once they are graded, you CAN tell them apart by what is written on the TPG label. However, take them out of the slabs, and you won't be able to tell the two apart. Same thing goes for struck at West Point, struck in San Francisco, struck in Philadelphia MS eagles. The only way to tell them apart is by what is written on the TPG label. Take them out of the slabs and they are identical.
  8. So a signed label is ok, but not one that differentiates the mint where it was produced? So it's basically just what you are interested in, or what you deem collectible, correct? How are you going to differentiate the coin that was in a slab with a signed label if you crack it out? I say to each their own.
  9. Pretty sure you have to check with accounting at NGC. I have never seen it listed on the site.
  10. APMEX is fine and completely safe. However, they have a minimum order of $149 right now.
  11. Correct. By appointment. However, since he was asking the question, I felt safe in assuming he was not a dealer lol. (Now watch me be wrong.)
  12. Pretty sure you can't pick them up, unless you submitted them at a show. To be sent back UPS or Fedex, you would have had to have given them your UPS or Fedex account number with your submission. Most likely they will ship back to you via USPS registered mail, which I have found to take around 7-10 days minimum. It all depends on how many stops it has to make between them and your local post office. Edit to add: Were these submitted in the US?
  13. Why? The mint mark for this coin is on the reverse.
  14. If this forum is any indication? Salt. Plenty of saltiness to go around here.
  15. If that is the way it came from the mint, then yes, they will grade it. Only coins colorized by third party companies are not eligible to be graded.
  16. I don't believe any were minted like this. The green was done by a third party afterwards.
  17. Unfortunately, not a chance. Usually, you have to submit a coin in an unopened box directly from the mint. Otherwise, how are they to know that the particular COA you are submitting belongs to that particular coin? It is also rare that either company offers to certify the COA.
  18. What makes you think they will be worth serious money? I see MS67 on eBay right now for under $30. No way I would risk that kind of money getting 25 coins graded.
  19. Plus it looks to be post mint damage. You can see the chatter marks or whatever damaged the coin. It looks like whatever did that hit the bottom of the S and pushed it upwards.
  20. It appears to be a damaged quarter. But that's just my opinion.
  21. You may want to post in the Ask NGC section. Those are the largest slab storage boxes I know of.
