  6. first weigh it...33.4 grams, measure it...34.0 mm.....lighting in ur photos prob dont show its real color so cant go by that, has legit die characteristics...mint mark etc....if u r going to sell consign to reputable auction firm let them grade, if going sell privately needs be graded...prob come back authentic with details, appears to have been cleaned and/or lightly polished, not uncommon....
  7. its worth getting graded, (1) just for authentication purposes, (2) a subtle difference of 1-2 grade points can make a significant increase in value as well....
  8. interesting thread for the most part....since its March Madness time...ill go ahead n predict that all three of Stuart's rarities will exceed the estimates....

  18. Ali E......thank u for prompt response to request for expansion on the Greenland Mining tokens.....will there be further slot expansion for the other denominations for the Greenland Store Co. tokens as well?...i have requested a slot for the 100 ore(zinc) which was just recently certified by NGC....thanks again....
  19. Ali E......respectfully request u review n authorize additions to the Greenland NGC registry mining token sets...specifically, (1) the 1911 Greenland Mining Ltd tokens, three token set 10 ore, 25 ore, 100 ore....NGC cert numbers 2855899-010, 2855899-011, 2855899-012 respectively....(2) the Royal Greenland Co. Store tokens (zinc) 1894-1926...NGC cert number 2855899-013, these earlier tokens came in several denominations listed in Sieg, they circulated simultaneously with the Ivigtut 1875-1922 mining tokens which r already included in the Greenland NGC registry....these tokens r companion pieces to the Ivigtut tokens n r equal in collectability....thank u as always.....
  20. probably not due to just one simple reason...most likely combination of diff causes...die fatigue, die erosion, possibly extra striking pressure coupled with both, design stress...many variables n possible combinations....but even if could identify the exact cause raises question of why in that location of the die....back to possible design stress...not knowledgeable enuf to scientifically answer, just off my head speculation...but both ur quarters r nice examples n the die cracks add to their interesting eye appeal...mite have been all that stress at valley forge that caused george to crack a bit...
  21. DWL: both coins enroute usps priority express, submission for cert n variety plus per conversation...
  22. most military lore attributes the challenge coins back to WW1 but not verified, there is credible evidence of usage during WW2, korean war n vietnam war.....there r stories of similar coin usage among military members as far back as roman era, but not in the same sense as challenging more of an award or recognition of valor etc....the short snorters usually were mementos of shared experiences as opposed to being used as member challenges, aircrew members, submarine members, tank crew members etc exchanged currency notes signed by all as mementos of their serving together or sharing a military experience....some short snorters have brought high dollar amounts at auctions depending on whose signatures were involved n the military experience...i recall hearing one from dolittle's raid brought a significant amount at auction, presidential short snorters usually do well....im sure if an enola gay note showed up it would do the same, i once saw one from the yalta conference that wasnt for sale....common ones with no historical signatures routinely sell in the $50 range....
  23. liberty seated twenty cent, half dollars n dollars have stars pointed to the rim...half dimes, dimes n quarters do not.....
