NGC uses Registered Mail to return coins. It can be maddeningly slow, but it is the gold standard in security. Believe me, learn to love the security.

For years I lived about 50 miles from the Philly Mint, now more like 100. When I’m in the Deep South I see a healthy mix, but almost exclusively Philly here. Now that I’m in mid-state, I almost never see current year coins anymore. When I go to Philly by train, I almost immediately see new coins everywhere, starting at 30th Street Station.

What are you calling incredibly high? I have purchased 3 of the W 2019 quarters in NGC MS66 and all three were quite reasonable. The 2020’s need some time to come back to reality. The prices are, err, umm, a little “batty”, or “Weir(d).”

I frankly don‘t give the slightest rip about what you think about ANY subject, or what you resent. As someone who rescues feral cats, I resent the heck out of all your rants about them. So who cares about what you resent ? Certainly not I. By the way, I am legally trained (I write law) and my best friend is a licensed attorney and we both vehemently disagree with you. I am also aware that the Eastern District of Pennsylvania United States District Count and the Third Circuit found you not to be a credible expert witness. And yes, I do know the why’s of that.

By the way, I have personally witnessed you spouting pure BS at several ANA conventions. But then again, that does put you in fairly numerous company.

I suggest you take up your personal “gripes” about Daniel Carr with ANA Chief Judge Joe Boling, who has said all Carr pieces ARE fine for even competitive exhibit, despite the fact that counterfeits are not. Therefore, Carr pieces are not counterfeits in the eyes of the ANA.

You attacked Mr. Carr‘s membership with a spurious action with the ANA regarding his pieces and the ANA found AGAINST your position and FOR Mr. Carr’s. I am frankly surprised you continue to flap your gums over this.

Roger, you have a well-documented propensity to state a good many things as established fact that are merely your opinion, even here on this board. In most circumstances, I admire that sort of style, but here, you may be misinforming those with less experience.

Not true, Roger. ANACS does indeed authenticate the entirety of the Moonlight catalog, as of the last time I looked, which is admittedly some time ago. I know he’s a well-documented sore point with you. Lots of contentious history, that hadn’t gone well for your attempts to litigate it.

I assume you did not read the policies and/or frequently asked questions that are posted on NGC's "help center" webpagebefore sending in your coins. If you had, you would have seen this:
"NGC assigns an adjectival NGC Details Grade to coins that have surface conditions that preclude numeric grading. These surface conditions include improper cleaning, scratches and damage."
    or this:
"Numeric grades give a strong indication of a coin's value relative to its value in other grades. Most collectors and dealers would pay more for an MS 64 than an MS 63. This is not necessarily the case for coins that have received NGC Details grades."

The value of NGC Details-graded coins is much more subjective due to the variety and severity of the surface problems that result in NGC Details grades. It depends a lot on one's personal preference. Some collectors may prefer an XF Details Improperly Cleaned coin to an AU Details Scratched coin, while for others it may be the opposite.

If NGC were to assign numeric grades to coins with surface problems, it might imply that higher graded examples would be worth more than lower graded examples. That would not always be the case, however, depending on the type and severity of the problem. An MS 64 Scratched coin would not necessarily be worth more than an MS 63 Improperly Cleaned coin; it could be the opposite.

To avoid this potentially confusing scenario, we describe an NGC Details-graded coin's condition with an adjectival grade range along with a statement of the primary surface problem".
Might have saved you some frustration if you had done a bit of research before submitting.
If you had read this prior to submitting, you would have known that, in the event your coins were determined to have issues, they would not receive a numeric grade.

I’d keep them as they are until you gain the knowledge and experience to recognize a likely MS67 or 68 coin. I avoided even discussing MS69, because they are ridiculously rare. In most years they actually don’t exist. My 2019-W uncirculated Lincoln Cent made MS69, but those were specially handled.

As a general rule, chasing anything recent in PF70 is likely going to cost to much more when buying compared to what you’ll be getting when selling. When you’re buying, it’s “ooh, perfect grade”, but when you’re selling, it immediately becomes, “meh, it’s just a bullion coin to me”.
