  1. Welcome to the forum, this section is for questions or comments on the NGC registry, your question would be better seen and received if posted in the "newbie" or "US coin" sections of the forum. What you have is a common souvenir replica, not a real coin.
  2. Just a damaged coin, likely from being in very acidic soil or subjected to an acid of some type.
  3. Welcome to the forum, this section is for questions and comments about the NGC registry. General questions like yours are better suited for the general "US Coins" or "newbie" sections of the forum. With that said nobody can help you without seeing photos of your coin.
  4. Just run over many times in the local WalMart parking lot, damage upon damage.
  5. @tj96 do you have your new name already picked out for your return ATS.
  6. I would love to watch someone who gets my home rolled coins. As I bank at a credit union they require all change to be rolled, so I routinely deposit around $200 - $300 each month, but those rolls are guaranteed to be a waste of time for anyone that roll searches.
  7. For a strike to be "off center" there must be some portion of the blank planchet showing and it must have the same portion of missing strike on both sides. Anything that is seen on only one side would be a slightly MAD (misaligned die) or perhaps a tilted hub. While both of these are technically errors, they fall more into the realm of poor quality control and are so common that they have no value to knowledgeable collectors.
  8. As I suspected, type set scores are set differently by NGC I really don't know how NGC arrived at the points they award in type sets or the logic behind setting those point scores lower than what the coin explorer shows. I seem to recall one of the registry team members saying the type set points are awarded as if you are using the most common coin in the series. But that doesn't always line up with what the explorer pages show either so its a mystery. Often times it makes absolutely no sense to me and I wish they would just use the points that are shown on the explorer as well, but they don't. Perhaps @Ali E. would be willing to shed some light on this issue. As @Sandon mentioned most of the time you can see the points that will be awarded if you follow his instructions before you buy a coin to fill a type set slot. I say most of the time as in some instances; especially if the registry set is a new set; if no one has entered an eligible coin into an existing set it may not have a score available to be displayed for a few coins. In those cases, you might have to contact one of the registry team members for a score.
  9. It would help if you can provide a specific example. However one possibility is that many coins are given different scores in date/mm sets vs that same coin when used in type sets.

    rare coins

I'm sorry but you have received some bad information there are no missing letters on your 1974 US cent. If you have read that a coin without a mint mark is rare that is completely false information. The US mint produces coins at several locations. The Philadelphia location has seldom used a mint mark. So a coin without a mint mark simply means it was produced at the Philadelphia facility, it is not an error, and in poor condition like your coin is only worth 3 cents for the copper metal value in the coin. Again it is unfortunate that you have received misinformation about these coins in the past, they are not rare or valuable.
  11. The rim ding between T and E would concern me and could be enough for a details grade. It also looks lightly wiped from the photo, I would likely pass but I tend to be very conservative if I don't know the source.
  12. We have seen numerous coins in capsules like this that turn out to be lighting reflection, or a scuff on the holder. Proof surfaces can really trick your eye.
  13. I am curious about this as well, I do have CAC graded coins and would like to use them in the registry if possible. As I recall it was announced at 2022 FUN that the NGC registry would accept CAC graded coins into the registry. But that was prior to this disconnect between CAC and NGC. @Ali E.
  14. Doesn't look like VAM 4 in hand, likely just a function of the poor lighting and cell phone pics.

    rare coins

They may be considered rare where you are, but here in the United States all the coins you have shown are just average pocket change and worth face value.
  16. It depends, early on PCGS didn't do photos, so coins in the early holders like rattlers and OGH holders have no photos that can looked up or seen when you do a cert lookup. Later on some high resolution photos were taken as requested and paid for. Those photos are added to the database and can be seen by anyone that does a cert verification on the PCGS site. More recently PCGS began to take high resolution photos of every coin (around 2016 or so I think) as part of the gold shield submission tier. Again these photos can be seen by anyone that does a cert lookup on the PCGS website. NGC also didn't offer photo services in the early days. The Photo Vision option is a recent option, and in my experience the photos can range from terrible to very nice.
  17. Just a very well circulated and worn coin, I've seen many early teen wheat cents that look like this over the years.
  18. Depends on what photos you are referring to, NGC takes a low resolution slab photo of each coin. This can be viewed if you go to the cert verification page as @Sandon already posted. If you are talking about the internet images or the Photo Vision Plus photos that you pay extra for when you submit your coins, you should have received an email with instructions on how to download them to your computer or device. You are only given a 30 day window (or at least that was the case the last time I ordered Photo Vision photos myself) to downloads those photos. After that 30 day time the photos are wiped off the server and you will not be able to access them. Btw, noticed your shirt, Go Devils, forks up!
  19. Just the common and worthless strike/machine doubling.
  20. No, as far as I know there is no way to do what you are trying to do other than how you have tried.
  21. Your question is too vague, what are you trying to print, the coins in your set, the coins that are needed to complete the set? Did your set win a best of category and you want to print the award certificate? Need to know what it is you want to help you.
  22. The coin has been subjected to high heat. That caused the clad layer to separate and expand like a balloon. As it cooled the clad layer bubble fell back and this is the result.
