  1. Jason Your absolutely correct. WLH and the Eagle Landing Ike’s are awesome. I’m growing into this new design. I’ll know a lot better when I see the reverse proof coming up. 🤓🙀
  2. I’m still new enough that sometimes I feel a duty to respond and try to settle them in so you and others can answer a specific question. I hope that doesn’t sound wrong. I just remember the odd questions from me. Plus it’s a good chance to put into practice what I’m learning. 🤓
  3. My grandson and I share a display on the desk. Change it out daily 🤓🙀 🙏Welcome
  4. My new Gollum. It’s so pretty all I did was upgrade to a clamshell. 70-69 mint fresh arrived today. It speaks for itself. I grade it part of my collection don’t need a number…. But I hear you I’m often pulled in by the number 🤓
  5. Years back was given a classic blue Whitman. It was a an extra. Got it home and dang if it didn’t have a 09 vdb not real good shape but readable date and mm. Yours is very nice. 🤓
  6. As always there are many thoughts. As an option you could also sell one and experiment with a stack of type 1&2 not a bunch and buy a nice coin and see how they age with your taste in numismatics 🤓
  7. JT2. I disremember the 60’s. 67-70 H.S. Santa Rosa California. Less than an hour from Winterland and the Fillmore in SF. Every weekend for $3 you could see Hendrix orJefferson Airplane orGreatful Dead orLed Zeppelin opening for BB King. Or any of the old school bands. I saw JA the Dead and Mongo Santa Maria New Year’s Eve 68. They played all night and fed 5000 breakfast. Different times. But I digress. Thanks 🙏
  8. GBrad I’m kinda new but I am really just trying to practice what I’m learning from you and others. I am not very good at this but some one here or over at pcgs forum posted about looking at the whole coin then break it into sections. Then using sorta common sense to look for what’s out of place. The eyes were what I noticed. Now I see the date question and learning about beveled edge. I love this place 🤓🙀
  9. If I found myself in your place I would need to change my shorts. Congratulations no one ever left me anything but alone. 🤓😁 Now about your question wait and see til next year. There will still be monster boxes but give gold a chance. I would be so excited and happy I’m glad you’re smart enough to seek advice. Good luck and keep me posted thanks 🤓🙀🙏
  10. Unless it has personal memories in which case only you can decide value. I have several coins that are special to me that have little value to others. If not it’s a spender. Thanks 🤓
  11. Good job GBrad. There’s something about the eye in your pictures the socket the whole thing seems wonky. 👀. The eyes the dang eyes 🤓🙀 Your side by side top picture the 👁 is wrong 🙀
  12. And if I could please just one more question. When you do a walk through at a show do they slab em there? or as I suspect they mail them but just don’t know 🤓. Thanks again
  13. Thanks. DWLange? Would you like to weigh in please! Thanks 🤓
  14. Good question GBrad I’ve wondered about that too. RWB?🤓
  15. eBay is far better than Etsy or coins R US. Like anything else eBay changed but offered safety and selection with oversight. eBay all the way. Now it’s true that being retired I have the time to search and research but it’s way better than Uber-tube or such🤓 Now I have never sold anything on eBay but even that seems fairly good as a b&m store 40percent overhead 15 percent eBay and their customer base is worldwide Note: Estimates only on selling costs for different kinds of sales platforms
  16. Perhaps you should google hobo nickels fascinating story of carving taken to the next level. Enjoy 😊
  17. I have never found a W quarter in the wild 😝. I’ve got people in shops looking no luck. I finally won a first week of discovery at auction so I got one but I might be interested in buying one of those W’s special issue 😉
  18. Oh my God. Small world. I wrecked em and you replaced em. The circle is small 🤓🙀
  19. I wondered who was doing that? Up here at 8000ft. Elevation and snowed in half the year we like to do overprints 😈 leather strap hammer a quarter on a half wrap it up smack em good with the hammer and put in circulation 😂
  20. That sure does look like a number I would think it happened after minting PMD post mint damage. Maybe engraving or stamped. ….no no no umph that’s interesting I’ll study it a little more later with a loop. Welcome
  21. My associate has been throwing pennies at me since I posted this. I don’t even drink just old age. I have no excuse so let the beatings resume. ( Honestly it cracks me up too)🤓🙀😂
  22. GBrad when I was a kid in grammar school ( grammar school 😂 I’m old) I was 3rd grade and on the flag detail. Well I dropped it when we were trying to raise it. Perhaps those who don’t know can pay attention. All holy hell broke loose I was shamed whole school knew they burned the old one and wow after my required paper on respect for the flag. I learned. Thanks I hadn’t thought about that in many years. Oh ya when I got home how do you think that went ! Grandpa WW1 submarines pop w WW2 navy stateside supply CPO. Ya🙀😳
  23. Over the years I have bought 6 and looked at many. None were graded all raw but every dang one has pretty darn clean cheeks and fields and is at minimum AU. Couple peace dollars a few Morgan’s. For what I want it’s getting impossible to find quality versus price. 🤓 wanted to add. They ofcourse were all offered as BU but I think AU plus is more realistic 🤓
