  1. Careful not to post a link to any coin your thinking about. Just some good pictures and a price. I’m not saying any of the regulars would snipe your coin but a passing ship might set sail with your coin 😈😁
  2. That’s the designer’s initials. Go to us mint web site on the product list there’s a good explanation. Not a error the obverse is reworked there’s also a blank spot on the edge below the date.
  3. There’s 2early responses polite to the point friendly fair. I believe our op is brand new (think 1st post) and innocent just asking a question. Now to kurts point bingo is there something inciting people or what?
  4. Weight please 26.73 grams 😊Or there abouts. Really it’s the next question in authentication
  5. Specifically nothing. She only asked if it cost money😊
  6. You mean the whole world doesn’t speak English? What, now your saying they write different 😁. I am shocked 😮
  7. Run a magnet over it not good if it sticks. Weight it should be 26.73 gm and it looks circulated and cleaned. That being said at $35 your ok if genuine
  8. Hi and welcome. Yes there are grading fees plus shipping and insurance. It can get to $50 or more quickly. Hopefully this helps. Thanks for your post 😊thats a nice quarter. Just 3 years earlier and it would be 90percent silver 1964 and earlier

  10. My thoughts are welcome and I too feel very comfy on this here newbie forum. I have learned a lot. I have my share of bumps and bruises but most people here are wonderful some are truly enduring characters that love of coins drew us all together. Pretty dang cool 😎 You picked right up on the knowledge being offered and at what we all are learning we are better together and humor helps with our stubbed toes. Probably a good idea to wait and see how Morgan prices go when the new ones are released
  11. And a d.Carr repo. It’s ok ronnie I check my foot daily because it keeps winding up in my mouth 😂 What I love about that coin is how I get dizzy er looking at it. Thanks again no harm no foul. It’s great being on the newbie forum 😊
  12. Just a thought. Why are so many people willing to spend $50 to grade a $2 coin. I understand keeping coins with special meaning but do it yourself slabs will work
  13. I did try to replace the “70,s”😂 that spewed from the holders with decent coins. That’s an opening I’ll not soon forget 😊
  14. Well alrighty. Welcome and thank you for your post. I’m posting d.Carr’s latest for you to have a comparison. Thats a very nice 58. I’m still nursing a bad case of newbie road rash but read other threads and you’ll see there’s an unusual love hate relationship going on. It’s not just a newbie thing. They’ll chew each other’s leg off and turn right around and share in some pretty touching moments. Just like one big family!😊
  15. Hey howdy glad to see you back. As a fellow student I will pass on some of my notes. NGC PCGS are the leading services. I am a fan of ANACS also. ICG I put with the rest of the off brand slabs. For those it’s buy the coin only not the grade. Now for me there is a great big world of ase’s and lots of $ changes hands. Lots of people collecting and lots of ways to collect ase’s. There is definitely a group of seasoned collectors who insist they are bullion. Look at a2013 enhanced uncirculated ase. To me it’s art. 😊Now Morgan’s are a huge area of collecting many types varieties and such. It will keep you busy I wonder if this is a good time to start Morgan’s or peace because of the anniversary. Not many deals out there Just a thought
  16. I thought they were bumper guards for the slabs 😊(So far at least 2years for the bumper guards
  17. Well here’s a look at my “walk of shame “. For some reason I have 2sets. (Ram head into wall learn nothing, repeat 😊). These arrived mostly rattling around the box and none were sealed (glued). Hey ms70 I just found the original coins that were sent. I seem to remember replacing the originals with better examples ( of a common coin ). 😳 embarrassing
  18. Hey howdy I bought a set of2009 Lincoln graded by these guys. I’ll dig em out tomorrow. Rubber bands are required for these slabs all of mine popped open when I got them. Junk products and lousy people Laughable now. didn’t pay much and was when I was first learning about eBay

  22. I would go for the best I could afford. Eye appeal first impressions I just notice things like how much does this person care for things they have. I am also a pensioner so budget and all that. But in this case I might stretch the old budget a little 09vdb is I am learning not all that rare so depending on price maybe
