  1. Hey howdy and welcome to the forum. Interesting how things run in cycles but let me be first to say this’ll get interesting because lately we have had a rash of mystery mm and “unusual sightings “. Remember that you will get a lot of opinions while I’m fairly new I can testify that wait and sort them out. It’s a very good sign that you don’t see a “O” mint mark above the first 9. Thank you for posting. It certainly is symmetrical 🤓
  2. Practice practice is all I hear! I think I’m beginning to get it but you are absolutely correct. Zillion miles away, no problem get with in that 3inch zone and I’m struggling
  3. No no.your fine. Reread the advice you were given there’s wonderful information about grade condition Jason advice is good stuff. Mine is ok I’m still new so I try a little humor and carefully present some facts. Stick around 🤓. JP and some of the other folks here are pretty dang smart.
  4. I found this one at the park. Weather can do some interesting things Worth a quarter
  5. Nothing this morning. Can this really be one and done. OR have they spun the wheel and picked a new time? Ofcourse they picked a new time 8:13 est. Who is making these decisions? Up for maybe 2 minutes apparently just long enough to get denied
  6. One story told to me first hand. Who would have time? Well according to my source prisoners had lots of time and conveniently spoons were the culinary choice of the prison system. I was told with a little thinking I might be able to figure out how the coins got inside and most facilities had some sort of repair shop (drill bit). Half’s and quarters were popular but dimes were too as they were made into children’s rings and toe rings. I was told about this in the 70’s when silver was still circulating. As the years pass silver still commands a premium
  7. Right now there’s like a $10+ premium per ase over spot maybe $15. Slabs, I go with eBay sold. On one slab between fdoi (advance release ) somebody’s signature pretty pictures I’m confused with slabs (but have bought lots and lots never sent one in for grading, just lots of searching and study ) remember every upgrade costs $ For a little eye opener try this. Average Morgan let’s say ms60. $35-$45 raw add $50 for grading and shipping. $85 total. Check eBay there it is $49.95. All slabbed maybe free shipping. Don’t forget if it’s a special variety you’ll pay extra for that to be noted on slab. Sooooo. That’s how I see it 🤓. Hopefully this helps. There are many people here who can provide you with advice
  8. My little joke about pricing is 1 part numismatic news add 1 part coin world 1 part eBay sold prices and just a dash of red book. Gets me surprisingly close
  9. $50. Ms-62. 2 month old coin world. Numismatic news current ms60 $45 ms63 $80
  10. Same question here? $65-70 for ms70 plain Jane is about right. Today’s release in proof you better add$100-$150 on top of $65-70 if your looking for a pf70. The type 1 proof sold out half hour. The type2 18 minutes
  11. That’s not for the proof. No way I see you said ms70 sorry. Still a roll edition so I’m missing something
  12. After 4.2 million posts and comments (just kidding) about ase sales being crazy not to mention first hand experience ase WW2, 2021t-1 W proof, etc. I just did what many collectors did and went to the gates of hell (us mint website) signed in and got very lucky After 5 slow minutes of surprisingly easy instructions (no captcha) I got one. The amount of times it started to lock up pull it’s little freeze thingy and dump you back to go. Perhaps a quick trip to the casino with this luck. It was a war zone but we made it. AseW T1 2021 proof unavailable in half hour T-2 today 18 minutes. Wonderful outlook for the Morgan and peace dollars
  13. Grandson (8)was asking about this thread (he’s a YN) grandpa explained as best I could. He understood and returned with 2examples from his collection. 😊 One with copy and the other chocolate. Bless the children. I smiled and assured him that was a pretty dang good explanation
  14. I have a suggestion for your type 3 reverse. 😎 Much better than cropped eagle ase or chicken head age. This is meant with all respect
  15. I believe that you and everyone who’s on the forum would love to find a situation like you describe. I will start with this: collecting is a challenge and a little book learning and real-time experience.
  16. Cc is generally associated with Carson City mint🤓 Now that’s an usual coin
  17. Thanks for a discussion about a tricky subject. My young numismatist is where the rubber meets the road. Been said alot those who forget history are bound to repeat it. I gently explain a little and how bad it can be. He’s a stamp collector. I use the same gentle explanation when trying to answer questions about state flags changing their look. People have the amazing ability to grow and change
  18. My associate picked this up today. We’ll let you know how it works
  19. Ahh I take it back. Look what my wonderful associate got us. We’ll file a report 🤓
