  1. LoL Mike. whatever caused it has left the impressions lower than the field. Here is the highlighted areas of the field that are higher. So a broken die is out. Maybe a partly capped die with gouges in it or some void in the zinc It still is just a mess. I don't want anyone to loose sleep on it. Please . LoL
  2. Welcome Jim...Like you said. All my coins will be going to my kids eventually but if you think about it there is no loss for them it is all profit because you paid for the coins not them.....LoL
  3. Thanks for your thoughts VKurtB. I am on the fence with this one. I am just calling it PMD for now.
  4. Thanks Mike, There are two spots where you can see the core . Those could be hits from circulating that copper layer is very thin. If it was a drag or a push I would think there would be sharp metal build up somewhere and everything is smooth. This is a very common area where die cracks show up on the shield side of the cent. I have found quite a few with early stage cracks but never this big a area. So until I can find another that looks like this I have no idea what to call it other than PMD
  5. Yes, I will put it in my coin tin with the die crack and cud coins........
  6. Maybe the die got all beet up from the feeder finger. It has some straight lines in it. Its all chewed up. ?
  7. I was looking at the bonnet and rim by UNIM you would think the letters would be worn also but hey look hardly touched. I almost never see the eyebrow worn like that. It is almost like someone took a belt sander to both sides or it got kicked around the dance floor back in the 20's and 30's....LOL... but it is a 92 CC so if you get it at a good price then it will be cool.
  8. It looks funny. The way the rim dental is worn flat but the tops of the letters are not worn? Other than the odd wear points a 30 - 35
  9. Any Thoughts ? ...This is a odd looking cent. Could it be broken Die or a delamination. If it was a scratch I would think the rim would be damaged and metal pushed around, also the Zinc would be showing the copper is so thin on the shield cents.
  10. Thanks Neo. Did that copper you were waiting for come in while you were gone?
  11. I got another very nice 66 for the set. This is what a 66, 67 and 68 should look like. I can say that I have seen some that Make me wonder ? But I won't complain
  12. LoL.... and now I have two. So I would say it is the real deal.
  13. Maybe it is a { web bot } I see random comments here every once in a while.
  14. More fun finds.............I may have found a new crack or a large die gouge on this 2021 P Nickel. Through the eye and across the forehead and just coming out past the hair a bit.
  15. I agree, Even in the NGC coin registry they give points for green and gold CAC stickers on coins.
  16. Looks like a 30 to me but I think the rim shots would drive it down to a 20 and still damaged. I bet it is still a heavy price being a CC
  17. Quintus...You have to read the whole thread to understand the tape was to hold two of the same coins in there holders together. Also this whole set was handed down to Liam II it was not a purchase.
  18. That's cool Bill. That Ship looks like the same as the Mayflower?
  19. I have heard others say that they would report our findings.? To whom do they report us to ? I only offer my opinion and agree or disagree with other opinions. Is there a Black List somewhere with our names on it.
  20. Yes the fields have a lot of detail. They remind me of a toy from the sixties called Spirograph where you would use plastic circles to draw more elaborate circles. They also seam to have a holographic look in areas.
  21. I see tape on all four sides has the slab been opened and the tape is holding it together? If so that could be problematic.
