  1. Hard to say maybe grease in the die or? The rim is flat It looks like a hard hit took out the ( IN WE ) I would not send it in . If it gets graded as a SMS coin a MS 68 is worth $30 . That wont be worth the grade price.
  2. No it was a nice coin. Not this one.
  3. I see, ................You have to grab them from a file on your phone or pc by clicking the paperclip, choose files .They cant be to big or they will not upload
  4. Ya Lem has some great looking nickels. He has some big registry point coins.
  5. And we all know that this always works. ...................................I know Mike did not say this it is just a funny statement in his quote...
  6. TPG do not grade Nickels very high anyway. MS 66 is a good grade. I think they are scared to grade them any higher.
  7. I get it.. the 10=70 and if I take off the 9. and change it to a 6 then I have all my MS 60 - MS 69 .well that was easy............. BS all day.
  8. It is labeled that way. It could be a PF 70 on a good day or a PF 68 on a bad day ...........Or a very rare S 8661
  9. Ya Mike, Your SP looks to have a different finish? Your coin is from the set and mine looks like the matt finish strike. I must just be the lighting on your coin makes it look different.
  10. October 1st, I have been roll hunting looking for a 2023 D Nickel with no luck. Today at the grocery store I finally got one in change. It is a piece of junk with to many dings to put in my coin folder but at least it made it to the east coast. There will be more.
  11. I think the gold is from oil in the heat sealed cellophane of the mint sets
  12. It is out of focus , that is to hard to tell if it is a flat top. It looks round
  13. The first MS70 I picked up. It was a easy choice it at $50
  14. I think most of us agree that NGCX is not our cup of T. This is one subject where I do not agree with my T shirt.
  15. Yes after a year I would think things have changed ,,,,,,,,,,,, Unless Arthur Finch has found that time is irrelevant. I find I have a lot less time than I used to have.......
  16. Didn't the British silver plate anything that was not moving to fast.
  17. Here ya go. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/exonumia177061.html
  18. You found my cent, Where was it ? I put my initials on everything. ( LoL )
  19. Thanks guys. I like the honesty JT2 it is not being harsh. And yes Lem the collar was a surprise. I will say the camera on my phone picks up stuff you don't see in hand. Once I posted the picture's I was like where did those marks come from ? Before the photo it was a 67 +
  20. Thanks for your opinion, Not many collectors like to guess grades on nickels and dimes. I agree that nickels are hard to grade. Almost every year has a oddity you have to be aware of in this series. In the early sixty's the hair was always a problem with strike. I think they would let that go as is. I agree the bag marks on the reverse are going to hold it at a 66. Most of the TPG do not give out 67-70 on regular strike coins unless it is flawless. That is why the price jump is so dramatic in those last four grades. Thanks again for looking. powermad.
