  5. Another trip to the bank today and asked if they had any strange coins they wanted to part with? One girl said I have 19 of them if you want. I said sure. LoL I got one silver out of the batch. At melt It is almost worth what I paid for the whole of them.
  6. Well, collecting nickels it is almost a normal expectation to find polished dies. Some are quite nice. Finger prints not so nice and never either of the two on proofs.
  7. It could be a hardened piece of grease . A strike through can be a one time thing a lot of times it is gone after the first hit .
  8. I agree it was mounted in a bezel and then coated with a sealer of some kind.

  11. QA I for one think you should not be even asking about this stuff. We try to discourage the new people from doing any more damage than is all ready being pushed around the internet.
  12. Thank you for the heads up Sandon. I will have to see if I have any of the type 1 coins. Not that I would break the set but good value factor to know about. Maybe slip a note in the envelope for the kids so they will know.
  13. This came in today and I was hoping it would be a gold colored UC .I think it is cool looking. I have seen this color on some mint sets I have bought in the past.

  16. Yes Roll hunting helps for finding the three C's. Those little imperfections ......Clashes,,,Cracks..and,.Cuds,,,,These coins are all 2021 eye clashes. Not a Item worth grading I just label them and put them in a box for another time.
  17. The cent is showing the rim being mushroomed . I like the term ( Dryer Coin ) anyway it just fits .
  18. I have some normal looking 1943 cents for you . I do have a couple of nice ones somewhere but this is what they look like unprotected and. well circulated
