  1. Well this coin must have come from a collection. I never find a 1964 D that you can see die scratches in the field. There were 1,787297,106 of these punched out most with low details no steps and flat hair. This is a nice 64 D.
  2. I also picked up some Home Rolls today. I cant wait to see what may be in these rolls
  3. So I go to the bank to swap out my rolls of nickels and cents to day. I also had a roll of half's that I got last week. I get home to take a peek at the edge as I always do and I see this big silver coin with no reeding on the edge? looks like someone snuck this in for spacing . A Greek 10 Drachmai Constantine coin. It may be worth more than a Kennedy. One thing is for sure, it is the biggest nickel I have ever found.
  4. I was looking at this shot on a close up and it just looks like a scratch skipping over the clouds. And the obverse is nothing special for a MS 67. It is a Top Pop https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/6863218-003/67/
  5. So that article is saying that roosters are not as rare as hens teeth.
  6. Lucy. We have not seen the other side but I have to say. Getting a 67 on that coin was a gift . It has lots of hits and a scratch that goes from two a clock to four a clock. I hope you have some more with good grades out of 30 coins.
  7. Sorry you had to learn the hard way Lucy.. Bill and Greenstang are correct. Most TPG do not recognize many of the items you asked for unless it is a very rare error. Now days any true error is very hard to find.
  8. Here is a 04 I thought you might like I got out of a bank roll not long ago. Yours is a D so it has a nice strike.
  9. Sorry to say .You will find that most of the older P + D mint sets you pick up will have coins that are not that great. No FT. FB, FS lots of dings and scrapes.
  10. Yes the rim is the same color you can see that is the first photo . Even where it is worn on the obverse, reverse and the edge it is still darker than normal. Here is another shot without the USB scope. I think this one will go in the coin tin with the other oddballs.
  11. I may have found what you are asking for. This was a coin on E-bay for sale. I am not sure how many coins are in the set? https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/6806131-018/70/
  12. I have been saying this for years. There are plenty of nice coins out there all ready enslaved other people have spent good money on that I can buy for a minimal price. I also wanted to say sorry everyone about those USB shots. I posted those this morning before I left for the day . I just got back a while ago and did not realize how unrealistic the LED lighting shots were until you all said something.
  13. That shot was with a USB scope. It is not that green looking . Here is a different shot. It is still not worth grading but it looks better with a normal shot.
  14. Thanks for the vote of confidence Mike . Due to its condition it is a coin that would be last on my list to send in .. LoL
  15. If you want the dollar coin of 1975 it will have to be a Bicentennial. In 1975 the only coins with that date are Cents ,Nickels and Dimes. The Quarters, Half's and Dollars are all dated 1776/1976
  16. Yes I see a lot of stuff from ANACS even at other sites. . That 58 is almost MS. Yes that is why I said it was a Cull. We may never know for sure. I like to post stuff like this to get the opinions of other fellow collectors who get tired of looking at dryer and parking lot coins.
  17. Hello all, I was roll hunting today and found this cull piece. Through the years I have seen quit a few of these1959 dark nickels also termed as Black Beauty's. Most are not and just environmental damage. This one is a maybe? Just for fun, I thought I would post some shots and get some others opinions to see if it looks like one.
  18. So we can request special names for coins through NGC ? This coin is a Masterpiece. Wow. Thanks Roger for finding that because we are always saying you can't make up your own fancy names for a coin. I guess you can....It is listed only as a error. https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/6566572-454/Other/
  19. Mike, If the coins you have are in NGC or PCGS holders I would think they are ok. Most large auction houses have there own coin experts to cover there butts. Now if you are picking up raw coins at estate auctions then that is a different story. You would have to be able do your own assessment's of the coins .
  20. Still my favorite year for a Kennedy, Because it meant something. It was not just a coin it was a tribute. A end of a era.
  21. Nice cent but we can not say anything without better pictures. As Sandon said. I will suggest putting your phone on top of a soda can with the coin in view. then zooming to fill the screen with the coin to the edges. I have a old S8 Samsung and it will take good shots with this method . Like this
  22. Without holding it in my hand it looks like PMD .The edge from the number one all the way around to the mint mark looks to be dished out including the remainder of the date with displaced metal pushed toward the bust and to the edge of the rim. It may have been a grease or week strike to start with but it has gone round and round on coin roller or something somewhere for a while. It has been around long enough to smooth out so no one will ever know for sure. That's my 25 cents worth
  23. It looks like I would just keep all that information with the coin. It is a real 210 year old coin with a certification number saying it is to damaged to put in a Certified Holder unless you want to pay more money. Here is the link to your coin. https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/2251182-001/Other/
