  1. Yes in the sixty's people around here used Morgan's like they were money to buy things. Not always, Everyone tried to keep the coins and spend the paper but when times are tough a dollar was a dollar and you could get a lot for your buck.
  2. Yes Eagle, I think the last three are from the same die. It is nothing to write home about, but a bit more light hearted in comparison to some of the treads we have been dealing with lately.
  3. It is kinda windy and rainy with Lee barking at my door so I thought I would do some roll hunting. I have some new bank rolls. It is always fun to find die cracks in different stages all in the same roll. Hard to say if it is the exact same 2023 P die but it is close and still fun to do on a rainy day. Coin collecting just for the fun of it. The first shot is a different die. the crack is to high. I think the last one is a better match.
  4. But is it a true Morgan? Is it a commemorative coin as listed ATS. Here at NGC it is a Anniversary coin or Medal ? I used to get Morgan's on my paper route from customers to pay the weekly bill. At the bar people use to buy drinks with them.( I grew up in a bar that's how I know) I am not sure it is quite the same thing, Eagle.
  5. From this photo it looks like two coins slapped together in my opinion . Now you say this quarter you posted is not the same quarter we have been talking about ? What is the point of people trying to help you out if you are not honest. Most people post pictures to try to find the truth not to play games. Photo's can be deceiving that is why everyone makes there judgments on what is posted on good faith .It looks to me that this may be a payback thread .
  6. When I was a kid the 5 cent coke machines were everywhere. But then again almost everything was 5 cents
  7. Sorry , I have not seen these anywhere in my travels.
  8. Not a clue. I did look it up without finding any information on them. I am sure if you have enough money you can have any thing printed if there is room on the slab.
  9. Wow. If that picture had been shown on the first page it would have ended all the chatter about this fake coin.
  10. I picked up this set at a dealer in NC couple of years ago for $16. I think you can find the same ones online at close to the same price. I would just leave the ones you have in the book and try for another set. or just get some slabbed already.
  11. The intent of going to the coin shop is to look for coins to purchase. Finding a $25 coin in a box for $5 I think is a worth while adventure. 115 miles is a bit far I agree . I shop local mostly but when I travel it is more convenient when you are near a coin shop to swing by. I also have many pocket coins that I save.
  12. Nice find, I love to search the old boxes in the shops. I almost always get that $5 deal also. Ya never know what may have got tossed in the grab box. This Satin Finish was a $5 Box Coin
  13. Nice coin Lem Yes I am still looking for a MS66 or 67 in a reasonable price range
  14. Welcome Yancey, I am not sure what that term is ? Maybe grease filled dies would be a better term.
  15. Sometimes you get very nice toned coins from the packaging. Sometimes not so nice. So I would say yes the coins are at risk
  16. I see you both referencing the look of 2021 and 2023 but not 2022 ? are the 22's ok looking or are you just saying 2021 through 2023.
  17. Well , Sorry to see the details grade, that scratch really jumps out. I would say anything above melt would be a good deal.
