I have been working on my westward journey nickels set. I have quite a a few MS 66 coins but for some reason the 2004 P Handshake has been a hard coin to get in my price range. I don't know why this coin always bids out way over price. Sometimes $20 to $100 over the High retail price. This is not a rare coin at 361,440,000 What is it with this being one of those coins that people just bid out on. So that's My rant for the day...... Anyway I found this very nice MS66 from a Dealer on eBay and I must say it is a good looking coin and I did not have to play the crazy bid war to get it

The new cents do not have much copper on them and they are easily effected by the environment. Most of these new shield cents are not going to survive as long as the cents of the past.

Yes It is not very common a find. I think the last generation of old time collectors are leaving there circulation finds to there family's and many are not interested in coin collecting. I live in a big retirement area so I find a lot of older change at the banks. This last roll was full of VF and F Bicentennial half's. I think this coin was most likely in a draw somewhere. It is AU and has mostly what I call tray scratches from normal handling on the fields on either side of the bust. The reverse is a close to MS in the fields due to all the raised devices.

Your Dimes don't have a P but they are from Philadelphia.

I would never buy raw coins but I see nothing wrong with buying graded coins on eBay. Most dealers have acceptable prices. Of course then there are the crazy ones.

Anyone can ask whatever price they want to sell a item. The trick is finding a buyer to pay that price. I think many items are overpriced so I wont be buying any of those thank you.

Yes I have seen some of those red white and blue painted ASE's they are horrible and expensive. I saw one at antique store down south for $60 and said to the clerk that coins is only worth $32 brand new and now that it has all that junk on it I think it is worthless.

Acid Is my opinion . It may be grainy looking up close . This coin looks like a old( Coca Cola soak experiment)some of the old timers will know what I mean .Also the acid eats the coin uniformly and slow so most of the details remain but it gets smaller everywhere the edge had reeds so they will stay showing a bit but the whole rim is dissolving working toward the center.

Yes some roll against the barrel and some get caught and spin with the barrel against the coin. it is easy for a coin to flip sideways and roll with the barrel. Just throw some change into those donation tornado holes at the store and watch it roll.

I will just pick up a new/old 64 D at auction. That Omaha MS 66 was only $13 maybe I can find a MS67 cheap either way I will pull the Omaha Bank coin off the registry. That roll coin is a MS66 in my mind but I would never send in a coin for grading unless it was worth $200 or more.

I am sorry but I see coins marked (Cleaned) way to much . Most of the time I think it is marked that way to be safe and not have to commit to a grade. This coin is old and I am sure it has been rubbed the wrong way a few times. I know I have

So here is a good one. I thought I would look up my NGC slabbed 1964 D to make a comparison with this coin . The only problem is my NGC Certified coin is mislabeled and not a 1964 D it is a 1964 no D ? is that worth more $. LoL Now what, it is in the registry as labeled and it is a older holder ? I got this coin at auction over a year ago with four coins total on the delivery. I must have looked at the coin a half dozen times and never even thought to check the mint mark. I must be slacking or getting old.

Well this coin must have come from a collection. I never find a 1964 D that you can see die scratches in the field. There were 1,787297,106 of these punched out most with low details no steps and flat hair. This is a nice 64 D.
