Yes Roll hunting helps for finding the three C's. Those little imperfections ......Clashes,,,Cracks..and,.Cuds,,,,These coins are all 2021 eye clashes. Not a Item worth grading I just label them and put them in a box for another time.

The cent is showing the rim being mushroomed . I like the term ( Dryer Coin ) anyway it just fits .

How about a plain MS 70

I have some normal looking 1943 cents for you . I do have a couple of nice ones somewhere but this is what they look like unprotected and. well circulated

Roll hunting, I have always found Denver coins have a much stronger looking strike and proof like fields for many of the coins. So I can see why the count would be higher for people trying to get the PL designation on a coin.

In the past some coin company's cleaned polished and plated coins for retail. Many people would buy these certified coins through magazines and TV advertisements never knowing that the coins are the same as almost any coin on the street just cleaned up with a fancy piece of paper. Everything on that paper is true to a point just not specifically pertaining to a individual coin .

I dug up some 2021 P Eye clash coins to show the obverse line next to the left eye.

I like many collectors use the Redbook for a reference among other sites like NGC and PCGS, Coin World and such . I am just a old construction worker, biker ,musician I am kinda gruff around the edges and don't always explain things very well and I make mistakes all the time . The problem is Mike, when we explain something about a coin we have to be carful on what we say. Especially for the new people. This site even though most of us are only collectors our comments are available world wide. If we say something out of context we better have something to back it up. That's all I wanted to say and here is the Redbook page on proofs and another PL. to keep things rolling.

Yes I have one of those it is a eye clash . On the obverse you may see a line going through the left eye. It is the edge of the step

I had the pleasure of looking at some nice gold dollars a couple of weeks ago for a gentleman . This was one of the nicer ones . I asked if I could take a picture to post here. This sure is a looker. I hope you don't mind this post Roger I thought you might like it...

It is sad that they had to buff some of the coins out for the display. I was able to get some nice ones but these two and two copper plated ones were just worthless.

These cents came out of a old coin display of cents from 38 to 64. Notice anything odd. ? Lol

Welcome,,,,,,,I would not send in these coins. The 1985 is toned in a odd way and it may get a ART Tone Label and the 1968 looks normal and I would need to see the reverse also to guess at it.

I normally look for MS 66 and up. I like this coin because it is a low MS64 and still got the PL designation.

I live in a area of many retired people and I always find good looking old coins in pocket or from local bank rolls. When times are tough or someone passes on the change gets spent or banked.

Not a bad looking pocket change coin for it's age.
