  1. That's funny I also thought it was the ugly duckling of coins. It has to be the most writing on a coin I have ever seen and yes they are always marked up or toned out ,but this one is really clean
  2. Ricardo Montalban would have said ,it is like fine Corinthian leather. No, Sorry it is a damaged coin
  3. This is how I keep track of my Quarters, it just so happens that the Ice cube tray has 5 cubes per row and each Park Quarter had 5 coins per year. Except 2021 only had 2 so it is easy to put aside the nice BS coins as I find them for books
  4. Welcome, what we call a spoon coin or a dryer coin, spoon a quarter around the edges to make a ring. Mostly done with silver quarters. Or tumbled around in a dryer for a bit will do stuff like that also.
  5. I have been thinking about alternative collectable coins other than Morgan's and ASE's and decided to get a commemorative. Not wanting to spend a big chunk of money for a set starter coin I have been looking around and found that some Washington -Carver pieces were at a reasonable priced $50 to $60 but most were all beat up or toned out and not to good looking. So I took a chance and bid $43 on this coin site unseen and being told it was very nice. I am very pleased with what I got this coin is like new and so is the holder it is in.
  6. Well one reason could be that the NGC price guide is out of date on most of there coin listings ? or so the list under the coin to the left says Updated ,there would be a big price difference between a 2017 NGC and a 2021PCGS and that price is like the high end price for a coin.
  7. The first year and it is like brand new, real nice Bill
  8. There is always snot on the steps in the wintertime.
  9. I find it very interesting that we have many of the same coins with the same dates. most of yours are MS and mine are VG or VF ,1883 and 1912 Nickels 1939 dime and now a 1942 half ,you been in my safe Bill. No I love it when member's post there coins
  10. Now that's what I'm talking about Not these fat letters and numbers claiming to be something special. LoL That reminds me of paying my bar tab at the end of the night No wonder I was always broke I had to pay double.
  11. I been looking at these coins every night and day Trying to find the ones that pay Most are worn with metal out of place But I keep looking just in case Da Da Da Da Da I got the Double Die Blues Is it these old eyes Seeing double lines Da Da Da DA Da I got the Double Die Blues
  12. I am not saying it is a DD that was just the title... I wright music and the title sounded so good (Is it Old eyes or Double Dies) I am not looking and any of the edges of the devices that is reflection I was looking at the lines in the centers they are not typical looking Mechanical Doubling that is why I posted it , but it I guess it is just a different variation of the same old thing.
  13. Here is the Liberty it has lines also, not as pronounced as the top words
  14. Yes these lines are rounded and continues not stepped like when the die jumps, So are they in the die itself that is the question ??
  15. You all know me by now and I would not put this up but I see a different type of doubling here than normal Mechanical Doubling. See how the line is rounded not flat look at the O in God it starts out on the outside left and circles into the center back where it started. You can see it best on the rounded letters and numbers but it is on all of them. Is this more like Hub Doubling I did not find a listing for this in Vista. Let me know what you guys think.
  16. It would have full steps also if it was not for that one nick by the clash
  17. I put this up earlier in the cherry picker post but thought it deserved it's own spot after looking a little closer. There is a clash at the bottom of the steps it is half of Jefferson's eye and on the front you can see the edge of the step running through the nose ,past the eye and out into the field by the hair. Kind of a cool find
  18. Good day for coins today found a nice 2011 P Die clash on the reverse under steps it is Jefferson's eye
