  1. Happy new Year to you as well JP, however you may hunt OLD rolls but you aren’t old!
  2. Welcome to the chat board! Here are a couple of ideas for storing and displaying your medals. The tray will hold regular slabs for display. Just purchase the correct size slabs and insert them into the tray. the second is a neat storage/display box. both are inexpensive and available on Amazon
  3. People are genuinely "dumb" enough. These are SOLD items!
  4. Thank you! The same to you and all my NGC friends
  5. I actually got this by roll hunting a wheat cent roll, I purchased for $17.
  6. I agree ! I know it was discussed many times but todays example just struck a nerve because I was so proud of the ms 1941 P I got this week. I see it all the time including all the 19.99 silver eagles and Morgan cc’s the scammers are hawking. Just turns my stomach.
  7. What am I missing? How can these sellers get away with this? My cent was wayyyy better than these! https://www.ebay.com/itm/155566635858?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=PdJuZG0DQ_C&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=T97vizlURgm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY https://www.ebay.com/itm/166496596990?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Tbc6_njoTNi&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=T97vizlURgm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  8. My advice when buying CC Morgan’s is; Be very cautious! I would not trust most of those you see on EBay, and don’t trust Etsy or Mercari. If I were you and looking at Morgan CCs I would strongly recommend only buying a TPG version . That way you know it’s genuine. If you don’t mind getting one that’s been lightly cleaned, there are examples to find such as this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/235350073515?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=LIrJgCCOTba&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=T97vizlURgm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY so many are cleaned, polished, buffed, dipped or outright counterfeit. if you don’t mind some damage here is one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/225917172765?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=r2rztt_yrc6&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=T97vizlURgm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY your coin does not appear cleaned to me and retains good luster. As a comparison an MS 62 or 63 graded could run as much as $500
  9. I’ll bet you’re right. In 1929 the cent was way more valuable than today and someone decided to make a memento gone wrong.💥
  10. I was just looking at the 41 and the VDB is either no there or hardly determinable
  11. Thanks Greenstang this is the album coin it replaced.
  12. This may be the best example that I have seen in hand, raw. A 1941 P Red. i think this might be a candidate for grading. Whatyall think?
  13. Ha! Would that be a blast white nickel or a toned one?
  14. Yes but I have two in my registry too. But this one raw looked like it was hardly worn.
  15. Welcome to the forum. Your coin, although in great condition, would not warrant the grading fees associated with having it encapsulated. The graded coin if graded as a VF would only be worth $25. I would recommend self slabbing it and keeping it. Others may chime in and suggest otherwise. I am not a prolific coin grader and it is just MHO. good luck
  16. Correct hard to imagine an 83 year old coin that has probably been in tens of thousands of hands. The 66 quarter is very unusual to find in change because the automated sorting machines kick them out.
  17. Interesting counter stamps given the date of 1867. The civil war had ended two years before. I noted three different counter stamps. 1 double star next to date 2 LR to the left of shield on reverse 3 reverse 4 between flag and star on obverse. the coin appears to be a late die state based on the weak denticles. As RWB stated it is still a collectible coin.
