  1. Got these two beautiful coins today. 1963 P Ben Franklin and a 1964 P Kennedy half.
  2. Fitzz I think you hit the mother lode of fake Morgan’s!
  3. No Eagle but I’ve been watching 1921 D for a while. Can’t seem to obtain a good one.
  4. I noticed the dates first, then the obvious black color shading , which on one coin has run. this certainly would qualify for the too good to be true rule. Sorry Fitzz, they don’t look genuine to me.
  5. Thanks Sandon, I had seen that logo before, but the multi colored labels led me astray. I think it would be a stretch to get an AU on this figuring it’s been handled and manipulated frequently. I already had 21 d which we have discussed which also maybe a VAM but that coin turned out to be scratched up.
  6. I don’t recognize this holder. What about the AU grade, regardless of vam4?
  7. Hello and welcome to the hobby. We would appreciate if you could crop the photos and rotate them into proper orientation. Upon examination with what I can see, are normal circulated coins only worth face value or slightly more. We here in this forum want to encourage new collectors but at the same time help the collector realize that not every shiny coin is worth a lot of money. By enlarging and orienting the coins properly, it helps us better see the coins and ultimately make a better judgement. Welcome to the group.
  8. You always run the risk of coin damage when removing the coin from the op, plus you risk getting a lower grade on the re-run. If it matters to you to have NGC or PCGS holders then by all means send them in.
  9. Jason i, personally buy anything from TV sheisters, but was demonstating the cost of $13 for a 1964 Kennedy. Although the one I was given is a fine example, it would probably struggle to get an MS65. A nice keeper though.
  10. Agree struck through something would be strange to see that much wear in that spot especially since the rest of the coin is well struck
  11. Idk either there is a pinch, or squeeze under the date and on the obverse same position that, to me indicates vise. That would allow holding it to grind it out, my vote, PMD.
  12. My bad guys it certainly is a D, I will not submit as suggested. A neighbor gave it to me.Even more, here’s a video of the coin guy selling 10 1964 Kennedy’s for $129! choke! https://www.hsn.com/youtube/product/coinsandcollectibles/mhUL_ZUKhTM
  13. I have this very nice 1964 P Silver Kennedy that seems like it may be one of those that may be worth grading. Mid 60’s grades seem to carry pretty high values. thoughts?
  14. Great advice from all of the leading collectors here. I have learned a great deal from all of you. Barbie, when I first got into the hobby, my first idea was to submit a few Morgan dollars. One of them came back as a VF VAM 2 1887/88, which puzzled me because I had no idea what that designation meant. 😆, the second came back as “not genuine” unslabbed , it was counterfeit. Then I sent in some proof and new Mint Silver Eagles, they all proved worthy if their expected designation. But they should, but then you ask yourself why, when you know they should receive a higher grade. I wasn’t expecting to turn a profit, so the lesson here that everyone is telling you, is that know your reason for submitting before you do so. good luck and let us know what you will do and also how your grading turned out.
  15. Oh yes! Very nice! That’s the first one I have seen labeled Monticello.
  16. From your pictures, I am not seeing evidence of DDO except that written on the 2x2 flip. If I am incorrect, others will let me know.
  17. At least the Obverse is still Lauren Fraser’s design.
  18. 2023 American Women, unfortunately I’ve only ever heard of one.
  19. As the others have said please crop your pictures. I cropped yours here. It’s not the photo but the size that matters nice find
  20. The Real is only worth, at best $15 the 5 cent much less. Grading with shipping, grading, capsuluzing and return shipping would cost you around $60-70. IMHO it wouldn’t be worth the cost good luck
  21. I got this 1956 P proof nickel this week for just $3.50
  22. The Chinese are absolutely flooding the market with these. I don’t feel safe ordering any Morgan raw coin at this point. I will only by graded coins for this reason.
  23. They sure look very real to me with real silver luster and toning. Wish I knew what they were. I would find out what they are, what they are worth and if they are real before making your decision. A legitimate ANA dealer could tell you or perhaps some of the world collectors on the forum. Are they large coins. If real, they could be very valuable from the Ching Dynasty sometimes called the Double dragon. good luck and let us know. Love this stuff!
  24. Since there is no apparent wear in the area “of”, I have to assume this is a “struck through” coin. Meaning it was struck with something, debris, grease, etc which prevented the die from doing its job. There is no premium for these coins but are always interesting how this happens. Thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum.
