  1. Can the text contained in the Registry page column entitled "Comments" be read? Are the comments created by the collector or third-parties? Thanks.
  2. Thanks for the reply. The NGC number is 1576883-007. The fun of collecting this series has just begun. Do I need to come back when the set is complete?
  3. I would like to see a new category created for Paquet's Mint Series, if possible. The series was minted by the US Mint circa 1862 by engraver Anthony Paquet. Baker identified seven medalets in the series and assigned 155 - 156. The medalets are considered by many to be some of the most beautiful produced by the US Mint. . Thanks,
  4. Thanks for the info. The coin is in an old NGC holder so being outside the database is probably the correct answer. Would be curious as to the starting sequence number in their database or is there gaps in the early recorded numbers. I don't own the coin, I saw it among the auction lots offered by a large auction house. This is not the first time I've had either a NGC or PCGS coin not show up in the verification database. Even in the late 80's they had databases so not sure why early slabs would be omitted. Maybe the old school house with the records burned down. LOL.
  5. If a coin fails its NGC verification lookup is it an indication of a counterfeit or is there another reason for the fail. Thanks.
