  1. Don't have a pic of my first, sorry. I picked this one up three weeks ago from Northeast. I have a passion for Rebel gold. NGC AU 53
  2. Congratulations on a job well done Roger. This is truly a great event. PS: Just ordered a copy and look forward to reading it.
  3. It isn't that I am being disagreeable with you RWB. Perhaps I do not understand what you mean. All I know is the TPGs use that in their grading. For example, NGC uses the following: U58 Slight wear on the highest points of the design. Full details. AU55 Slight wear on less than 50% of the design. Full details. AU53 Slight wear on more than 50% of the design. Full details except for very minor softness on the high points. AU50 Slight wear on more than 50% of the design. Full details except for minor softness on the high points.
  4. VkurtB: I wasn't referring to Collector's Universe. Alex said: "it's a miracle NGC kept this forum up."
  5. Fun times??? How many of those people are on this forum today? I was gone by 2006 / came back in 2010 and nobody I knew was here. Left again. In fact there were so few that it's a miracle NGC kept this forum up.
  6. I'm impressed. You don't see coins like that at the corner dealer's shop. Thanks for posting Matt.
  7. March 2004 - The War of the Words with the people ATS. Now please carry on folks; sorry for the interruption.
  8. I'll be watching for it to come out. Looks to be an interesting read. Just remind me when it's out. Thanks RWB.
  9. It is good to see the NGC Forum becoming revived after many years of being avoided. So folks: Go get em!
  10. Sorry but this is all I could find at present. I will keep searching. https://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_nkw=maarten+token
  11. I may be wrong but: I believe this is a token. There is a resort and a casino at Maho Beach. There are several for sale on EBay.
  12. The nuns at Catholic school told us you couldn't see the soul. I asked an Army doctor about it once and he told me it was located down and near our gizzard.
  13. They did not invent a vaccine for H1N1 until 2009 and that was the Swine Flue variant. This is close to the Influenza shot we get every year. This vaccine changes often because Influenza evolves often.
  14. Everything I have read about Spanish Lady, and it has been extensive, suggests that they overcame the 1918 Pandemic in the same way as we are doing today. They wore masks, practiced social distancing and stayed at home. Every survivor interviewed says the same thing: "People became infected and then they became immune or they died." It appears the major attack of H1N1 fizzled out in 1920-21. So, you are pretty close to what you said earlier.
  15. "How long do we stay cooped up"? I guess as Governor 'Woof' keeps doing the 'Open Up' - 'No, close down agin'. I don't think 1. That anyone knows what they are doing and 2. That there is anybody in charge.
  16. While I have the utmost faith in American ingenuity and our ability to rapidly solve problems I fear you may be right. The 1918 Pandemic, AKA 'Spanish Lady' did not end completely by 1920 as some believe. In minor cases it lingered on until 2009 when H1N1, in it's evolved form, broke out in the US as the 'Swine Flu'.
  17. Just Bob: Thanks for the many years of posting informative comments and for answering our coin questions. You are truly one worth following:
  18. I keep a1897 Morgan that was Photo Graded MS64/64 by IGA in 1986. I believe it would get an NGC MS 65 today. IGA I think only lasted 86 an 87. I got rid of all my Photo Grades but kept 5 ANACS and IGA. IGA didn't make an impression on many people.
