  1. Years ago when I went to the Post Office to buy a book of stamps out of their machine and put in a Ten the change was in Sac dollars. I had a pound of them.
  2. So far I have to agree. This is not for me. I'm afraid it will turn out like the 2006 San Francisco Old Mint Dollar.
  3. I saw this posted, with great excitement, ATS and on CT. I think this is just another US Mint 'gimmick' personally. I would be interested in hearing what others thought. https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/6192
  4. Personally, I found Mr. Salzberg's letter to be both interesting and informative. As for WC's "TPG are attempting to replicate the US "collecting" culture elsewhere" I can't recall one instance where anyone twisted by army to buy a TPG slabbed coin or pounded my head with a mallet to buy an NGC or PCGS graded coin. If I absolutely adore a slabbed coin but would rather it be raw and in my album I just take a pair of pliers to the very tip of the slab and 'crack' goes the weasel! And then I can be just like the Euros and put all my gold coins in a paper bag. My congratulations also to NGC for helping make my coin collecting experience more profitable and fun.
  5. Very strange. I just browsed through the 2004 threads I saved and cannot find where the two of you exchange words let alone arguments. I'll keep looking because I'm quite sure you wouldn't say that which is not the TRUTH (RIP).
  6. UA53? UnAcceptable 53 maybe? That coinz EBay bound for sure.

Just look at the signature line: "This is my Forum of choice (when PCGS is down)." TRUTH He was my friend and had an unparalleled sense of humor.
  8. Sorry I don't have any Finnish coins but I spent a month in Kirjavala. About 3 kliks from the Russian border.
  9. I like it too; looks very colorful. Well done.
  10. I thought that there protest, armed and angry, would be enough to sett Governor Woof's tantrums. I guess a little kick in the pants by the court was an added measure.
  11. I have to agree with Coinbuf; I think the 1794 Dollar will set a new record and I think there will be a few more 'surprises' out there for us. Only my opinion.
  12. It is my humble opinion that more than the coins in the thread are counterfeit.
  13. Right. People selling coins often do those 'Basement Slab' jobs and talk about grade inflation. I would never trust a Basement Slab job. Sorry about that Liberty; one of my favorites.
  14. I call them Basement slabbers. There must be at least 50(+or-) of them on EBay. They buy empty slabs and print up their own label then put in the coin. Some of them are real creative and some do contain a nice coin.
  15. Once, a long time ago, I was a good customer of the US Mint. Back when their Proof and Mint sets were worth buying. Then one day I asked the Mint a question. Why are you selling Buillion at such a high price when I can purchase from a dealer at a lower cost. I was told a fantastic story about quality vs quantity etc. etc. No more US Mint purchases. The Mint has to be operating on a bail out budget unless those Quarter buyers are plentiful. If only the Mint would get creative I think things would change. This is my opinion and only my opinion.
  16. I have eaten Groundhog and it is absolutely terrible. I would recommend Catfish and black eyed peas. BTW: For any of you who might ask - I have hunted, killed and eaten just about everything that walks, crawls or swims on the North American Continent.
