  1. Don't know about "millions" but 1965 was a sad year for coins. The Dime and Quarter no longer had a Silver content and the Kennedy went to 40%. I remember there was a coin shortage during that time.
  2. After ya been around a while ya won't even notice it. You should have been here in Fall/Winter 2003 when HRH of ATS threw a curve ball at our Host. All Hades broke loose after that. The boys are just being themselves and they have agreed to disagree.
  3. Very nice pick up. Didn't have to look any further than 'CrazyHoundDog Collection' to know you have a Class A Coin and with a history too. I,m very jealous.
  4. It does not matter what the "collector' cares about or doesn't care about. The price the "collector' pays today or pays next year is based on the market which is controlled by groups of "coin dealers". The "collector' will pay the cost as set by these "dealers' or the "collector" will do without. It has been about greed; it has always been about greed.
  5. I choose to exercise my Rights under the 5th Amendment to the United States Constitution.
  6. This came about because no matter how kindly the Mod would ask they would receive verbal abuse as a reply. Most of those DoDos are gone but some have replaced them. If you were here for the 'War of the Words' (2003-2006) you'd have a better view of the rules. Also, your 'Constitutional Rights' do NOT apply to private industry. If that were true Twitless, FakeBook, et al would be out of business by now. Acceptance is the first step to peace of mind.
  7. I have heard this some where before but I cannot remember where.
  8. Correct. Revenant knows what he is talking about. I saw a common Mint State 63 Morgan with a CAC sticker. That is the exact definition of 'greedy' and does nothing more than hurt the hobby by inflating a $40.00 coin to $60.00 or $80.00. "Pump and dump" (P&D) is a form of securities fraud that involves artificially inflating the price of an owned stock". Punishable by prison time if stocks are involved. Coins....nope, do as you please because there's no regulation on how high you can inflate a coin nor how many 'misleading' statements used to describe said coin.
  9. I never said "there's anything wrong with making money". I said: " It's always been about the the money." and you went on the DEFENSIVE without knowing anything about the corporation you were defending. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia CAC has evaluated over 650,000 certified coins with a value of over $2.9 billion. The company has over 400 dealer members and over 500 collector members. The firm's website maintains a free serial number verification service, which helps deter CAC sticker counterfeiting, and Population Report, which assists in determining coin rarity. As of September 2015, CAC had purchased over $425 million worth of its stickered coins. The exact description of the "Pump and Dump". In the US Stock Market you go to prison for that. In the Coin Hobby they grant you sainthood.
  10. Yes, in the Stock Market it's called 'The Pump And Dump' and you can get prison time for it. In the Coin Hobby no one cares and I'd say after 2.9 BILLION dollars CAC is all about the money.like all the rest.
  11. Certified Acceptance Corporation (CAC) is a Far Hills, New Jersey coin certification company started in 2007 by coin dealer John Albanese. If by "credentials" you mean 'Coin Dealer' I have never met the coin dealer that was in it for the fun. Have you?
  12. CAC, MAC, Blast White, et al = it's all about the money. It's always been about the the money.
  13. I DO NOT send any coins via FedEx or UPS. Why, for decades of sending high value coins I have never had any lost/stolen/misplaced is beyond me but that is just the way it is. I subscribe here, CT & CU and have read these "horror" stories but for some reason have only read a few 'follow ups'.
  14. I wonder who those folks are and why they don't like a sticker on their slab? More stickers means more value; right?
  15. Then perhaps upgrading is the way to go for present times. I have had NO problems with Over Night and Registered shipping TO the TPGs. Just recently I received a submission back where it took less than 3 days California to Pennsylvania and a completed submission NGC tto me in 3 days. I live in a very small town and we don't have the staff some POs have yet I am experiencing no delays and have never had a loss in decades of USPS service. And NO. I do not work for the USPS or am affiliated in any way with them.
  16. So? I've got three mislabeled by ATS. People make mistakes and my 2 1/2 Dollar Gold isn't really a $1.00 gold.
  17. Ummm, I like a good And there is no finer subject to bring out the boxing gloves than CAC.
