  1. Alan,

Buy what you like and can afford, and enjoy yourself! I remember people ridiculing me for paying $7 for a silver eagle back when silver was under $4, and they said I was crazy for paying over $400 for a Saint! Of course I feel the same way about what others buy, but I say to each his own. I am really not into most modern coins, but there are a lot more people out there that just love them, so how can you complain?

Anyhow, to stay on topic, I got this one today, along with a silver proof set for 2011:

  2. Kamillion, I seldom buy online anymore, instead I frequent the local coin shows in my area. We generally have 1 per month (there was one today where I got the two coins below), and it's much easier to haggle and see what you're getting before you get them, and you get to bring them home right away! Depending on where you live, there may be some nice shows around, I think Coin World used to have an online listing of shows too, so you could look up your state and see what's around.

Here are two I picked up at the local show today, the first is a nice variety I needed for the Dansco, the second was a 1/2 off bin purchase for $6 and I was intrigued by the die rotation!

  3. Bobby is absolutely right Alan, Dansco is the company the makes the album (they are the market leader), they make them for many US and world series, and the advantage over whitman folders, is that you don't break your thumb trying to get the coin in the hole, and you can see both the obverse and reverse of the coin once in the album. Overall a nice way to store and display your collection.
