  1. A few more nice commems, whole bunch of morgans and peace dollars, including the 28P I need. Cheapest was around MS60 for $510 raw.

Wow, I cannot believe how much these have risen! 893whatthe.gif I bought mine in MS-62 about 5 years ago in a lot of 3 coins from Heritage, along with a 24-S and 27-D each in MS-63 for less than $700. I'm still ticked I sold off the 24-S a couple years ago! tonofbricks.gif

  2. Ok, here are some of me recent purchases. This first one is in honor of TomB so he doesn't get confused on the rest of the coins in this post! Just a hole filler for my set that I picked up cheap while gold is down:

This next one is for Bruceswar, since we both seem to like Mexican coins! I picked this up at a local show last weekend for $15, and it's not bad for 169 years old. It has nice luster but is very weakly struck. Also, I noticed that it is in medal allignment, while the 1888 I have is in coin allignment. Does anyone know if this is the way they were struck at that time, or is this a 180-degree die rotation?

This next one if for bust half fans (and anyone that would like to help with an attribution). I got this one in a trade, and it's not bad for 197 years old!

And this last one is for you seated fans that hate coins dipped to oblivion! I bought this one for my type set, and it's really hard to photograph tiny coins in NGC slabs! And no, there is no S-mintmark on the reverse! foreheadslap.gif

  3. I went to the local show today and went a little crazy on the mexican! I really couldn't help it, they were really pretty and oh so cheap!

The first are some classic pesos from 1938 and 1943, then a 1956 5-peso Hidalgo, then a couple 1968 Olympic 25-pesos (one is Prooflike) then two 1-ounce silver rounds dated 1985 commemorating two of the most famous Mexican designs. In total these coins contain 4.23 ounces of pure silver and I paid $41.50 for all of them!
