It looks like it's been cleaned at some point, there is some wear on the high points consistent with an XF coin.

Nope, I am purely a Dark Side fan! Though I will admit the matte finish on the falcon probably doesn't show near the scuffs as Darths polished head!

Yeah, the star wars coins are all 1-ounce silver, so I'll breakeven when silver hits $105!

It's pretty nice...AND...wait for it...wait for it...it's an XXX edge too!

 

Although you can see the edge due to the holder is there a way to tell WITHOUT seeing the edge? Die markers etc?

Beautiful group of busties Jom, and there are only specific die marriages that have the XXX or ||| edges, for the XXX they are O-101, O-102, O-108a and O-110. With what looks like a row of segments below the scroll on the reverse, it looks like yours is an O-102.

I tried to post this last weekend but couldn't get on. Picked this one up at a local show Saturday.

I like the MOH half eagle, but I just can't stand that "$5" denomination! It makes it look so cheap! Even so, I still bought one of each of those!

Jason, I figured it was some new info that Parsley added in a later edition of the book than I have, but either way it's a fun one!

yes, the first is the overdate, the O-101a, and the second I guess is the O-108a, though my 3rd edition Overton book only lists the O-108, not the a.
