  1. Thanks @Walkerfan that is what I was missing.
  2. No worries you are fine, I was able to follow you but sometimes it can be difficult when multiple coins are concerned.
  3. Yes but in an earlier post I asked if it was the coin in the old post I provided a link to which you said yes, then you changed it to the coin you posted in this thread. I'm not trying to make a big deal of it just pointing out that it can get confusing if your not clear on which coin.
  4. Not interested in either so I will not be buying, one less for you guys to compete against when buying.
  5. Ok so the cent you want to submit is not the one you posted in the thread I linked then? It will be very difficult for us to follow if you are not consistent. The dime looks to have some extreme die erosion doubling, not an error and not true doubling plus the damage/poor condition would preclude a straight grade imo. The photos of this second 1969-D cent are slightly out of focus and I cannot tell for sure, it seems that there is a blob where the initials go. I cannot say yes or no from these photos.
  6. The old site is still there for some things, for instance when logged in I can still use the control panel (very important to me) and the collection manager (also very important to me). Its much easier for me to see the overall points change for the CAC bonus from the control panel in the old system than in the new system. I love the way the new system looks I just wish it would incorporate some of these features of the old system. As I expected (at least for me) the CAC bonus points were not that significant, a total of just over 4500 points for my Lincoln sets, far less for most of the others. I cannot tell for sure but I do not think that this resulted in any position changes for me at this point. Its interesting how the points are given, for some green beans I received less than ten points, other coins getting several hundred for a green bean. I am still unable to find the points that are given for each bean vs no bean that @Woods020 noted above.
  7. Ok NGC does authenticate the no FG on 1969 D cents that were lost due to over polishing of the die. However because your coin shows some remnants of the initials I think that your coin would not qualify as the initials need to missing completely. If I am correct and if that is how NGC authenticates this variety then I think that your coin would not be attributed as the no FG variety. The only way to know for sure is if @DWLange is able to comment here before you attempt to send in, if not then you would just have to roll the dice and see what happens in the grading/attribution process. I don't follow prices for these so I cannot say if there is any financial upside for an attributed no FG coin in the condition you have. Still need photos of the dime to help you on that.
  8. Hmmm I can see the icon next to some coins if I look under the set history with some score changes, but when looking at my inventory there is no change to the layout or any CAC icons there. As you said it must be something that the IT guys are currently in process updating. One thing that is new that I'm not a big fan of is that if you use the old collector society site it now redirects you to the new registry as opposed to showing the old system when you click a category.
  9. Is this the Lincoln cent you are considering sending in? 1969 no FG
  10. Hard to imagine being able to improve on either of those, you are on a tear this week @Woods020.
  11. @Lem E That is a sweet looking 1912 proof, very nice coin for your collection congrats.
  12. Awesome, glad you were able to get it! Update once you have it in hand so I can be extra jealous.
  13. Also just a heads up, if you are shipping bullion remember that the USPS insurance does not cover it unless you ship registered mail. If your package (or its contents) is lost using any other service level you will not be covered and are out the goods and the cost of the insurance. There is a member on the PCGS forum that just committed death by moderator over a bullion buy dispute with another member and this point was brought up in that thread.
  14. This sounds good until you run the numbers, if you do not have a store you will pay around 13% in fees under the new managed payments structure. If you have a store those fees are less but using the non store rate at $40 per coin less the 13% equals just under $35 per sale. Then you have to subtract your shipping costs of the envelopes and consider your time to list and package, and gas to drop off. Yes you can make a bit more if your willing to invest the time and energy to feebay it yourself and if you have a store on feebay you can do better than my example as the fees are lower, just depends on your personal situation and goals.
  15. Thank you for the additional photos, from those it looks like you have some minor die deterioration but no true doubling. DDD (die deterioration doubling) is very common on all coins especially the zinc core Lincolns and Roosevelt dimes. It does not add any value but can be cool looking when it is very dramatic.
  16. While it is a most unusual look I have to agree that the mintmark took a hit or three and flattened/moved the metal into that mostly circular shape. Very cool actually but just PMD all the same.
  17. No but your photo that shows the IGWT moto is not in sharp focus, can you take another photo of IGWT the date and the designers initials. There are a few minor DDO's for this date but I cannot tell from your photo.
  18. Hmmm well I don't collect Ikes so I'm not up on the pops, however I'm still not clear on how this will level the playing field for Proof ikes. In reviewing the CAC site I see that CAC does review MS Ikes but I do not see proofs listed in the currently approved list of coins they review, nor did I see any proofs listed in the CAC pop report. And in order for this to have any possible upside for your coins we would have to assume that if/when CAC chooses to begin reviewing proof ikes that CAC would not sticker any of the PCGS PF70 coins, which seems rather an unlikely expectation. Also I am wondering if your under the impression that only NGC graded coins will receive the CAC bonus not PCGS graded coins. While the announcement does not state this one way or another I'm making the assumption that both NGC and PCGS coins will receive the bonus points if CAC beaned. If you look at the announcement on the home page there is a screen shot that shows how the registry will appear with this new feature and it clearly shows the bean icon next to examples of both NGC and PCGS graded coins. I'm thinking that this new wrinkle is all part of the changes to the registry as NGC moves forward towards the ANA registry rollout, I do not think that the playing field will be altered in the way that will benefit only NGC graded coins by this change.
  19. There have been many stories of PF/MS70 and 69 graded coins that later developed spots such as those you describe and milk spots. There is indeed nothing that can be done, sometimes a quick dip will lighten or remove the spots for awhile, but in most cases they return again. As to why the seller did or does not disclose the spots is that for every one that gets returned five other sales do not. Many older buyers simply do not see them or if they do they just keep the coin and move on. Some sellers know this and play the odds since it favors the seller.
  20. It seems quite a task indeed to find an equitable basis to use when awarding the CAC bonus points. Star or plus values sort of makes sense for the green bean coins but next grade level up for a gold will have bonus points that will be widely varied for each grade and coin type. I'm hoping that it will be a set amount, say 25 points for a green bean and 50 for a gold; or something similar. The press release said this goes into effect next Wednesday the 19th of May so I guess we will know for sure in a few days time.
  21. One part of this subject that has not been discussed is how many points are we talking about for each bean. I did not see anything in the announcement to indicate how many points will be given for each bean. If its only a few points say 5 and 10 respectively then this will mostly amount to nothing. However if it turns out to be say 50 or more that could add up rather quickly.
  22. Everything that I see on the coin including the letters and branch appear to be simple strike doubling in the photo.
