Very nice no doubt the waiting is difficult but it looks to be very worth the wait.

She's coming from Sweden so it'll be a bit before I get her, but I think she's some fantastic copper to share!!!

They definitely have some interesting things, for sure.  But since I really only actively collect ancients any longer, there's nothing that really works for me  But I see the appeal for you guys who collect in other areas.  The last modern things I bought for myself were the 2 oz silver Egyptian Gods rounds of Sobek, Khunum and Anubis, and even those are ancient themed.  If you haven't seen those, they're really cool.  They're worth checking out.

Moonlight (d.Carr) ,Intaglio ,Grove mint(with and without d.Carr). Might be fun just to contact them just to see what they say. I have found they are all very friendly and accommodating 🤓

That's not a bad idea!!! I think I may just do that......I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one who'd want one.  Annia Faustina is one of the hardest parts of a Roman portrait collection.  There'd be demand for it.

Speaking of coins you could never afford and reproductions, I've been looking for a decent reproduction of a denarius of Annia Faustina, who was a descendant of Faustina the Younger and Marcus Aurelius.  I think there are something like 5 of her denarii known in the whole world, so I definitely cannot afford one.  But......I can't even seem to find a decent repro!!! Grove Minting does some nice work......I wish they'd get on a version of an Annia Faustina denarius!!

Moving away from ase’s and such I recently started buying quality reproductions like d.Carr’s 55 double die coins I could never afford. Second I bought the grove mint flying eagle cent. Today took time off from buying books and pulled the trigger on this chain cent !

please feel free to post something new your doing that is making you happy (coin wise)😁

Demands ? Won’t change the “smart collectors” know not to shell out $500 for a basic 1964 Kennedy half dollar . If you look back at Morgan dollars there several morgans with wacky labels they came from a “so called hoard” they aren’t even worth more than a Morgan with a “Plain Jane” label and grade . Collecting about being smart not dumb with a pocket full of cash to waste on wasteful buying … seems like in market we have some so called believers there will be a market for wacky labels and plastic slabs . They ain’t different than the PCGS cult followers and preachers who pass out the “mind controlling kool-aid” to the newer collectors getting into the collecting  hobby

You're absolutely right.  I can't tell you how many hearts I had to break and hopes I had to dash when I worked at the brick and mortar shop with stuff like this.  People would bring things like this, stuff from Littleton, stuff bought off the TV and we'd have to tell them what they had was either worthless or worth far less than they paid for it.  And some of these people really needed some significant money when they came to sell to us.  But we couldn't help them.  In this hobby, and in life, there are many things which are legal but which aren't necessarily ethical.  If NGC certifies these coins with a special label, that's more than fine, but to sell these coins for such a high markup over what an ordinary uncirculated 1964-D Kennedy sells for, I have a big issue with that. I just don't see what makes them worth that kind of a markup.

So very true.  I just wasn't sure if this variety was too minor for NGC to attribute it.  Hence why I went with Variety Vista.  In the future, I will link both sites

To the OP......I used to be active on here a few years ago before the need to write a dissertation, get away from abusive newbies who didn't like bad news and do some soul searching caused me to leave for a bit.  I've been lurking since July, and I can help you with your coin.  Before I evolved into the Faustina the Younger coin guy I am now, I collected a lot of Ottoman coins and I can tell you what you have.  Based on the weight provided, you have a gold 100 Kurush.  It was minted during the reign of Sultan Mehmed V Reshat and the date of 1327/4 is indeed 1912, like Fenntucky Mike stated.  Your coin has 0.2127oz of gold and a melt value today of $372.61 USD.  However, it does have some collector value beyond this.  I do not feel comfortable in saying if your coin is AU or Mint State from the photos as it can be very tricky to discern high AU grades and MS grades with these coins.  The value range would range from $400 USD if it's AU up to $450 USD if it's in Mint State.  It had a mintage of 3,591,676.  However, it should be noted that there are very, very few collectors of Ottoman gold by date that I know of.  I hope that was of some help to you!
And to my old friends JKK, Just Bob, Karen Holcomb,, RWB and Revenant......sorry I disappeared for a while.  I had stuff to work out.  However, I'm glad to be back in some way if you'll have me again.

When I was a County Election Director, my County Commissioner boss used to marvel at my willingness to “commit math during a public meeting”.
I also argued with the Solicitor over points of law in public. She didn’t care for that and I didn’t care period.

After I left I kicked her behind in court, … twice.

I don't know anything about lostgalleon.com or the wisdom of buying from Vcoins. I do know of two Ebay vendors with whom I have done business and with excellent reputations for ancients. One is Faiz, who operates Rhesaena Numismatics. He comes to our club's coin show every year with an impressive display and great knowledge, and I've sat and talked with him for hours as well as buying a number of very pleasing pieces from him. Another is the Faillas (father and son), at Failla Numismatics. They are in my area (Portland, OR) and have an excellent reputation, and I also see them in person at the annual show here. My ancients mentor in the club also vouches for both vendors, and he knows a lot of things that I don't.
All I ask is that you bail rather than drill any coin that you obtain for jewelry purposes. Cheap, genuine, and ancient Greek are not entirely compatible wishes, but you can find reasonable pricing and excellent values from either vendor.

Hahaha....I love it!!! Vcoin does sound like it could be a cleaning product!!! But seriously, if you like ancients, VCoins is a great place to get acquainted with.  I've gotten great stuff at good prices and I've never had a problem.  For anyone who's interested:

Their very easy to deal with no problem examining the coin not the one send it back. I am older with some time to spend comparing Littleton eBay and a few others sometimes it’s eBay sometimes apmex now and again Littleton especially for tougher items. 🤓. Enjoy. Sorry I just heard about Vcoin and I thought it was a coin dip😂😂really it’s in a post somewhere !

That's an interesting suggestion, James.  I know with them you don't have to worry about fakes, but you're right.....they're definitely pricey.  But if you want to place a phone order, they may be a good option.  I've actually never bought anything from them, but I was looking at their ancients section just now and some of their prices weren't horrendous for the coins being offered.

Don was the first to earn a Ph.D. in numismatics, but I believe there have now been a few others. For a few people here in this board, and ATS, and ESPECIALLY at CT, that stands for “piled high, and deep”. Steaming, too.
