I may be seeing it wrong, but it looks like a bit of copper showing on the edge.
The scale definitely needs to read to two decimal places at a minimum in a case such as this. A silver quarter weighs 6.25 grams on average, while a clad one weighs 5.67. Either of these weights would round to 6 on a scale that only weighs to the closest gram.
Now I see the new pic, and Greenstang's response, that were posted as I was typing my response. Definitely clad.

Got a picture of the edge?

Welcome to the forum.
Nice first post & nice coin. Smart move purchasing an authenticated example. These are heavily counterfeited.
The cracks look to be planchet flaws, which are not unheard of on these coins. They add character, in my opinion.

Since the letters are reversed, the most likely explanation is that someone pressed another coin into your coin. That would make it post mint damage, and not a mint error.
Welcome to the forum.
By the way, you will likely get more responses to your threads if you post them in the newbie or US coin section.

I definitely like the look.

Got mine, and it was a good read. Thank you.

What you described is incorrect. It sounds as if you're talking about "Heritage Live" bidders, (not Heritage, itself) who bid live at the time of the sale, rather than placing internet bids prior to the live sale. Not surprisingly, "Heritage Live" bidders win a great many lots.
See link below, about "Heritage Live" and if you have questions about this, please feel free to contact me directly.
I stand corrected. Thank you for that information. I will remove my above posts. If you and @GoldFinger1969remove the quotes, my misinformation will not remain on this thread.

Welcome to the forum.
Some of us are leery of clicking on unknown links, so thank you for posting pictures. Hoop is right about your misaligned die strike. Most collectors don't pay much attention to them unless they are severe enough to have letters running off the edge. Cool find, though.

Welcome to the forum.
If it were mine, I think I would have it authenticated for my peace of mind. I am not sure if the Chinese have started faking these yet, but I would rather be safe than sorry. As far as grade goes, it probably wouldn't matter much on a piece this scarce. (On the Pollock scale, a Rarity 5 is 31-75 pieces known to exist.) Trying to put a value on it, however, may be tricky. It depends on who is in the market for a piece like that at the time it is sold. It could sell for several hundred, or several thousand.

I'm beginning to feel this whole grading new coins is not worth the trouble. T
Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!!

Would you mind telling us where you acquired these pieces?

I am sure you are aware of this, but for the benefit of future readers: 63.5mm = 2.5 inches. NGC will accept 2x2 flips, but they prefer the 2.5 x 2.5 because it is easier to remove large coins from them

Well, you are in serious trouble now, Brother!
Seriously, though, that one has some nice detail. You picked a really good coin.

the core is 21.5% silver and 78.5% copper
These are the figures given in the Coin World Almanac and on the website Sprucecrafts.

These are the figures given in the Redbook.
I wonder why there is a difference.

If it were mine, I would keep it to show to kids or new collectors, but if you are of a mind to sell it, why not list it on Ebay with a 99 cent open and see where it goes? Who knows, someone might really want it, and bid a few dollars for it.
Either way, it is a nice find.

I think it is the same coin, too. On my phone, it looks way off. Comparing pictures on my laptop, however, it looks like the same coin with very different lighting.
