Jom, I was this close to buying that one. I'm glad it went to a good home.
I was "this" close to passing on it too!
Good to have you back.

...and ANOTHER ONE!
I love it !
Although those aren't great pictures I think I'd like that one a lot...looks like the color is nice. Just a guess though....

The surfaces are an even chocolate color, and the luster is stunning in hand.
Ummmm....chocolate luster....
Nice coin!

We all just acquired 10 of these.
Here's why.

I'll be expecting mine in the mail soon. Be sure to use Registered Mail...

Great coins Jom, but what is going on with the $10 gold piece.
Funny color or something. The coin is graded as "First Strike" by PCGS but "only" MS68. So whatever it was it was mint made...I kind of like it though.

Well, here we go. These are recent purchases going back to a bit before the ANA...probably in July. I've shown a couple of these before but I didn't have my own photos until now. Special thanks goes out to Mark Felderino for viewing the 1832 CBQ for me in Philly. Although, I could not purchase the coin in the auction I was able to acquire it later from a dealer...and it actually cost me less than if I had got it auction at the next bid. Lucky.

Nothing super special, but a pretty coin to look at and very fun to photograph.
Nice dime! One of the very few PL coins I've seen around here I actually like...not too much die polishing....something I don't care for myself.

ason has a good collection of PL coins . Shame he doesn't post now
He said he'd be back later in the fall....

My favorite date for CBQ's !!
Excellent example.... Possibly ex: Hayes
Probably...but then again I think every coin is "Ex Hayes".
Nice 1850 half dime, Martin!

Sweet Seated Mike!!!
It's not really Mike. It's FAKE Mike. Real Mike wouldn't buy anything other than a Barber.
jom
PS: Nice one Mike!

Congrads Pianoman! I tried a similar set some years ago but I was doing mint marks as well. You have some advantages in just doing P mints but you seem to be collecting MS coins whereas I had many AU pieces. Plus, the cost of gold was a bit less for me...it's great you completed the set...I didn't unfortunately.

That's been said before and I still deny it -
I've owned some of the coins on the market
and some of them twice !!
Some of the coins, all of the time OR all of the coins, some of the time?
jom
-
...yet you continue to deny owning every slabbed Barber coin in existence at one time or another.
jom
PS: love the 95-S in 45!
