Love your '75. What grade? Seems AU to me... hm

I bought it raw, thinking it was AU. I paid MANY multiples of sheet for it. I sent it off to PCGS and it came back MS62.

The price you paid is typical (at least for me) when it comes to toning like that. Great coin!

BTW, what's a 62 "sheet" for for? Did it make up for you purchase?

  2. What do you guys think it will grade and do you like the secondary toning?

I love secondary toning. Sure the coin was dipped but who cares?! There is nothing you can do about that so you make best with what you have. Putting it in a Dansco is perfect. Most of my Bust material has probably seen similar circumstances....

    Grade? Haven't a clue. 64/65?

  3. JOM,

Did you just recently pick up a beautiful Ty. 1- 1917-D SLQ ?

A friend showed me the images of one he had sold, he didn't

say who it was for, but my thoughts went immediately to you.

Someday, I'd love to sit down and look at your SLQ's. Everyone

that I have seen so far has been spectacular !

Good question: Unfortunately, the 17-D is the one of the three I showed I no longer own. :( I sold it in June. I paid a lot for it and it turns out I got back the same....

I still got the other two though! My only two I have left anymore.....I've been divesting my 20th Century pieces for sometime now....only keeping a pair of Mercs, Buffs and SLQs. I used to have a bunch of those along with $2.5, $5 and a good number of $10s. No more though... :(

  4. I was just offered my old 1915-S back - I had this coin for 15 years

in a Dansco album - and sold off the non-58's four years ago.

Now, my third collection consists of attractive coins regardless of grade:

Exactly...who cares about the grade. If the coin is nice that is all that matters.

I'm still kicking myself for not picking up one or two of those AU58 dimes you had for sale last year. Dumb....just dumb.
