  1. Sometimes very worn coins can be spectacular. Here is an example of one IMO. The luster which is hard to capture - where the luster bands rotate under the light along the edges of the obverse and through the whole fields of the reverse. The toning is rich and the images are accurate for the color bands. The wear is consistent with F12 hence the grade.

  2. Even though that's been cleaned and is now retoned I find it quite attractive.
I assume you mean dipped....I agree.

Based solely on the pictures I would have guessed an old cleaning. You have the coin in hand so I'll default to your description. I think it now has excellent eye appeal.

On the cleaning issue I actually took the "CAC" sticker to mean there wasn't any kind of surface issue with the coin. At least not anything severe. I've sent a good number of coins through CAC and Albanese is pretty picky on surfaces so I had a bit more confidence with it since I couldn't view it before hand. It's definitely been dipped but it's got a proof-like look to it...a shiny look to it. It's certainly different that a similarly graded CBQ I got recently with the same kind of secondary toning...that one is more typical of a VF worn coin.

  3. Talk about a good week, I started out with winning a 1957 NGC Proof 69 Roosevelt dime, I wont that on ebay for $22.50. So I see another one selling on ebay and I was like no way I could get another one for another good price, but yes I did. I got this one for $34.50. Both coins are worth over $90+

No offense, but maybe the fact that you got both coins for ~ $30 indicates that they're not really worth $90.

Probably, but the new owner should walk the floor of a show to see what he could get or put them up on eBay again to see what happens. I think he'd probably just get the $30 but who knows?
