  1. Completely understand your sentiment. However, you'll be missed. grüß Gott
  2. I know, it's crazy!! I guess things like that happen. It was a cheap set anyway, no big deal.
  3. Yes, there's no doubt in my mind it happened at the Mint or where ever the Mint does their packaging putting these proof sets and other Mint produces together. I could say that there is terrible quality control and all the mints. But, the Mint has done hundreds and hundreds of millions (probably trillions) of these sets and other Mint produces over the years. Problems, mistakes and errors are bound to happen. But when you see things like these, you have to ask yourself.......is the Mint production area like a construction site?? Yes, it's a small rock or stone!!
  4. It happens, I guess. Got it directly from the Mint years ago. I was in the unopened OGP'ing for years...... until I opened it. It's like someone took a screwdriver to it. Oh well.
  5. @Kath13 I understand your concerns. I recently submitted my first order. There is a learning curve with submissions for sure. I requested the "reverse" of my coins to be holder-ed on the "front" of the holder. I highlighted my request, on the submission form, plus (along with the submission number & line number) on the 2 1/2x 2 1/2 flips. I just hope I'm doing it right... Assuming my attribution comes back as I hope. I hope I don't get a phone call scolding or reprimand me!
  6. Yes, I think you're right. Only graded coins.
  7. You might want to keep an eye on this auction site for nickels as well. https://www.northeastcoin.com/
  8. Thanks Mohawk! It was in an old Whitman folder for years and I didn't even know I had it. Where are you trying to cherrypick that 1952-A Small A East German 1 Pfennig from?
  9. I actually cherrypicked this from my own collection several years ago. I had it slabbed before I know it wasn't that significant in this condition.
  10. I'm kinda with @VKurtB on this. I'm more into the varieties you can actually see with the naked eye. I would keep an eye out for one of these in MS with a wide rim.
  11. He does take pretty good pictures though. You gotta give him that.
  12. Yes, I see your point. I've seen that as well on coins. Not a clue what it is, how it happens or what it's called. Sorry.
  13. Congrats JP!! Very nice nickels!! It's a great feeling when these things show up. 👍🏻
