  1. The whole stinkin' system is collapsing around us! It's like we're living in a third world country!! You can't even get a flight today, ridiculous!! And the excuses the airlines give is bogus! The country is it decline!! It's shameful and embarrassing! Glad your van, gas and food were paid by NGC. Don't want to think what that would have cost you out of pocket! Glad you guys made it back safe! Thanks for all you do helping us guys! 👍🏻
  2. Thanks Alex! There's a beautiful selection of everything here. 👍🏻 👍🏻
  3. Nice pick-up! Unless you designate and pay for attribution on the submission form, I don't believe the TPG'ers will recognize it.
  4. I guess this has turned into a show-me thread! 👍🏻
  5. I doubt if someone intentionally took the time to engrave it. It came out of the ground, it's called environmental damage. What you're seeing is called Pareidolia. Still a great metal detecting find! 👍🏻
  6. The die markers and chips on the Obv. seem to indicate the coins were struck with the same hammer die. Mr. Bill mentions the close AM on the Rev. I wasn't even aware of a wide or close AM on these things. These two AM's look different to me. Could this be a variety?
  7. Those individuals have been challenged and wrong before. Just because they write books and articles doesn't mean they're perfect. Trust me, there's a political angle and professional competition in everything they do in this industry. I know.
  8. You had a nice little payday!! It must have been like a treasure hunt inside that dryer. 👍🏻
  9. Yes, I've read it. I understand the concept. Dryer coin is only "one definition" of an "altered" coin. This coin could have been altered in many different ways to create this effect. Do you think it's impossible to create this affect with anything "other" then a dryer? Give someone the right equipment and they could create these coins all day long in their garage. However, I will be convinced once I see one of these coin slabbed by a TPG'ers with Dryer Coin on the label.
  10. I always thought the same thing, including cents! Can change fall out of pants pockets and get caught between the inner and outer dryer drums? I think many of these damaged type coins are just called "dryer coins" because an exact explanation is impossible.
  11. You mean this one? https://www.ebay.com/itm/143632721465
  12. Hmmmm, Denver Mint. Token. Used in place of a quarter. Which is about the same dimension as a small dollar. Which makes me think...what were the dimensions and weight? Which makes me think.....how many found their way onto the production floor. Which makes me think.................. I'm just thinking out loud.
  13. I'll be watching the sale of the dollar. Will see how it shakes out.
  14. You were reading my mind. I was just going to ask you for that link. 👍🏻
  15. Brilliant Fenntucky!! Thanks very much!!
