  1. Looks like you're off on the right foot. Welcome!!
  2. Would or could NGC holder a 5 coin set? What I have in mind, would be the 2019 & 2020, 5 coin W quarter series.
  3. I don't know, I'm just asking the question. Testing coins or planchets on new dies?
  4. Yes, we can all agree with that I'm sure. I pulled them out of rolls from boxes. I guess we can use our imagination on how to happened. I just need a reality check that there's no way they could have come from the mint like this? Have you ever seen test pieces like this?
  5. I should probably start a new thread but since the thread subject is Lowball Coins and the OP mentioned clad Kenney's, I thought I would post these. I can't figure these out. They are both clad. What are your thought, damage??
  6. I understand. There are just so many different aspects of collecting coins.
  7. It might also be helpful if you tell us what research you have done on your own. Google is your friend. There's a ton of information out there. You learn and retain information better when you do some research.
  8. Thank you for the reality check. I feel like I'm going nuts here sometimes!!
  9. Well, would you mind posting a link to it or post a picture of the coin here again?
  10. And did you post a pictures of that error coin here first, before you submitted it?
  11. Hog, VKurtB- I understand your thoughts and feeling about these lowball or PO-1 coins. There are some guys (not me) that only collect coins with holes in them. There are also guys that collect coins that have been make into tools. I think the "challenge" for these PO-1 collectors, is finding a coin with just enough meat on the bone to identify it with a date. Plus being straight graded, problem free with not damage.
  12. Could that also be some type of lamination?
  13. What's an extra eye on the obv? We need better pictures.
  14. I've often thought about that as well. Do you have any you can post pictures of? I have several of those clad Kennedy's you're talking about.
  15. Now I can see them. Much better pictures, thank you! It's most likely a die clash. Yes, it looks like an 8th ray (that would be a ray on her tiara, not a spike) Wish I could see a better overlay picture of this coin. What are the mint marks on your coins? This is interesting. PCGS has one of your coins listed as a regular business strike, not a variety. You can clearly see the clash in this picture. Unless I'm missing it, I don't see anything listed as a die clash. https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/2007-d-1-thomas-jefferson-position/148057
