  1. The timing of the grandparents birth, late 1890's, and an impulse purchase took me down the path to completing a full 1898 proof set, cent to double eagle over the course of ten years. Many of our coins sit in a safe or a bank so i thought I would share this very special part of my collection. I got deep cameos when I could, I would like to replace my dime one day, and felt very fortunate that I found a double eagle that I could afford. My next goal, a nice type set, something everyone enjoys looking at, a lineage of American history. I have several favorite pieces but the quarter eagle I purchased in 2014 tops the list because of the orange peel surface's and colors. I paid too much but would never have another opportunity. https://www.ngccoin.com/registry/competitive-sets/387624/
