Not at all. Have at it. There is not much to the thread I started here, so it would be cool to see some other surprising finds.

Very surprising find there! I don't think I have ever gotten an Indian Head back in change. Mostly Lincoln Wheats. I am not shocked by getting Canada (cent, nickel, newer quarter) in my change and it happens about twice a year, but I was surprised to get a silver quarter that I looked up with a melt value of approximately $3.50.

It would be cool to see others. Like @Mr.Bill347 said, how many hands have held them? or have they been pilfered from one’s parent or friend (like mentioned in post the other day) to gain by their loss.

While setting up this latest (and last of the year) trade show, I got both of these at the same time in my change from the food truck guy. Neither is in really great shape, but I did hear the familiar "clink" of the quarter and knew I was being handed silver right away. The Canada 25 cents is really not common to get in your change. And I am always amazed at the survivability of the Jefferson nickels that circulate heavily.

Very good thread, hope you don’t mind me, or maybe others sharing a few “in the wild” occurrences.

mine is not silver, but still unexpected. This coin was in change at the liquor mart awhile back.

It just so happens that this is the only gold coin I own at this point. One. Uno. I bought it in honor of my aunt as it was her birth year. She recently just passed.

As for @Hinkle, I have seen lamination errors on just about all series of coins. I also have one on a Morgan. Very cool! You got a keeper there!

I'm going to be the "odd man out" here. I think that the "9" in the 1957-D Lincoln cent that the OP asked about actually does have a die chip clogging its upper portion, as is very common for cents of this era and especially those dated 1957. I've seen others like it.  I think, therefore, that @dprince1138 was correct in this case. Unfortunately, like the boy who cried "wolf", he has posted disinformation so many times that he has discredited himself to an extent that no one believes anything that he says.

To the OP--Die chips like this are not regarded as significant mint errors, command no premium, and will not be attributed by grading services. "NGC does not recognize as mint error coins those with minor die chips, breaks and rotations, etc., that fall within our interpretation of mint tolerance." Variety vs. Mint Error | NGC (ngccoin.com). However, there was once a fad of collecting a similar, common type of die chip on cents of this era, as discussed in the following topic:

    Finale! 👍
Here is another example of the same Worthless die chip and some worthless MD (machine doubling) for this year of exhausted equipment and die…

@dprince1138 :  While I believe I understand your motivation for posting this now, now that the thread has again come around full circle, the OP had made his intentions and expectations clear in his first post on page one. By "edit" I believe he means delete and you may wish to consider posting it elsewhere by incorporating it in a suitable Topic, or perhaps, starting your own.  This is one of the longest running, continuous threads which, unbeknownst to most old and many new members has its own rules we are all bound to respect, with, I might add, the full blessing of Moderation.

It behooves me to agree whole heartedly. This thread is the epitome of coin collecting. Sharing your wares with a challenge to follow. It is blatant disrespect for any one to take away from those that share this small pleasure by interrupting the flow of fun and pleasure just to disrupt intentionally. It’s bad enough that there are many that can not follow the simple process, let a lone have someone continue to disrupt intentionally.
