  1. Hello @Del Ihle, Thank you for reaching out to us. I have confirmed that we are still processing intake for submissions delivered on August 4. We are working to have all submissions updated as quickly as possible, and your submissions should be available to track online soon. I apologize for the wait, and thank you for being so patient.
  2. Hello @Odyssey-2, Thank you for reaching out to us. I am very sorry that you did not receive a faster response. A coin will be returned raw and described as "NOT GENUINE" when the piece is either a souvenir replica or a counterfeit. The methods of determining authenticity are part of NGC's proprietary grading processes, so I cannot provide specific details or coin defects that lead to this identification. I have sent you a copy of the grading report via email. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  3. Hello @BigCraft, Thank you for reaching out to us. I can confirm that you have $150.00 in membership credit available on your account. You will not see these credits posted online. However, the credit will be applied when we receive your items and process your invoice payment. This credit can be used toward all submission fees and will expire on your membership anniversary. When you renew a Premium or higher membership, you will receive a new membership with your renewal. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  4. Hello @Fisk the Cat, I have reached out to you directly via email. I look forward to resolving the issue for you.
  5. Hello @Mactanboy, Improving turnaround times and communication of estimated turnaround times is one of the Operations team's current goals, and we are actively looking at processes to improve in this area. That said, I want to share some information often overlooked when estimating a submission's turnaround time. When conserving coins with NCS, please remember to combine NCS turnaround times with NGC grading turnaround times and allow a few extra days for transfer time. In the case of a US Economy submission with Standard conservation, at present, the time would be 20 business days for grading and 20 business days for NCS conservation, for a total of 40 business days plus transfer time or about 8 to 9 weeks. If you need any additional help, please let us know.
  6. Hello @Benjamin88, I know collectors are eager to learn their coins' grades and have their encapsulation coins returned as quickly as possible, and I appreciate your concern. I will be happy to share your feedback with our management team. While we work hard to provide weekly updates and forecast the turnaround time as accurately as possible, actual timeframes may vary from these estimates. Thank you for reaching out to us today.
  7. Hello @ATheGr8, Thank you for reaching out to us. You may see multiple changes while the coins are processed and scanned through the system. After a coin moves to grading, we occasionally see the "scheduled for grading" status when a submission is waiting for its next scan to update. I suspect that this was only displayed briefly while the coins were moved on to the next step in the process. Do not worry; your coins are processing normally. Your submission is currently with the encapsulation department and should be completed soon. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  8. Hello @Cognito, Thank you for reaching out to us. The opaque seal point pictured is common in genuine, intact coin holders. While I cannot definitively confirm a slab has not been tampered with via photos, this seal point would not usually be considered cause for concern. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  9. Hello @meaggiimoo, Thank you for reaching out. I would be happy to provide information on how to submit your coin for authentication and grading; however, I cannot assist with determining its value. If you are interested in submitting coins for grading, you can become a paid member of Collector's Society here: NGC Coins | Join. You can find more information on how to start submitting coins here: NGC Coins | How to submit. You will need to determine and provide a declared value for the coin. This value will also help select the grading “tier” or category under which to submit the coin. Grading tiers and fees can be found here: NGC Coins | Services and fees. When submitting the coin, you will also want to choose the Mint Error service to have the coin evaluated and designated as a mint error. If you do not wish to sign up for membership, you can find a listing of authorized NGC dealers that can submit the coins on your behalf here: NGC Coins | Locate dealers. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  10. Hello @John Polovick, Thank you for reaching out to us. The 100th Anniversary labels for 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars are only available for bulk submissions. Dealers and Elite members may request this label when submitting 100 or more of the same coin type. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  11. Hello @Hckooi83, Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a minimum grade when submitting a coin for NCS and regrade. In some cases, contaminants on the coin's surface can hide defects that will affect the coin's grade. These defects would only be revealed once NCS has conserved the coin. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  12. Hello @Benjamin88, Thank you for reaching out to us and for your feedback on turnaround times. I will be happy to share it with our management team. I also have good news! I have pulled your submissions, and they are nearly complete. Both submissions are in the encapsulation room. When we receive your submission, there will be a period when it will not appear on the tracking page. All packages received move into an intake process where the contents are inventoried and compared against the submission form as validation before moving forward into the grading process. Should any discrepancy be encountered with an item itself, a missing or extra item, or any other concern, our customer service team will reach out for clarification accordingly. Please note the intake process can take approximately 5 to 10 business days, and this period is accounted for when we estimate in the overall estimated turn-around time displayed at the point of the submission. While we work to provide the most accurate estimates possible with weekly updates (in business days,) timeframes for individual submissions can vary. Our posted timeframes are not guaranteed. if you have any other questions, please let us know
  13. Hello @davidar, Thank you for reaching out to us. Please provide the certification number for the coin in question, and we will be happy to review the details. Thank you, and let us know if you have any other questions.
  14. Hello @Qktbird, Thank you for reaching out. I have requested a status check from our grading team. I will contact you directly via email when I have an update for you. I looked up the estimated turnaround time posted at the time of submission, and it was estimated at 31 business days for tokens in the Economy, so I do see that these are running longer, and I apologize for any delay. I will provide you with an update as soon as possible.
  15. Hello @Dark Chameleon, Thank you for reaching out to us. I can only speculate about what may have caused the damage you describe; however, warping may be caused by exposure to high temperatures. I cannot confirm if the coin is at risk of damage, because I do not know what environment the coin was exposed to. In general, we would suggest reholdering a coin with a compromised holder. The fee for reholder is only $13.00 for a coin valued up to $10,000. As long as the holder is still sealed, it will qualify for reholder. If the holder's seal has been compromised, the coin would need to be regraded and submission would be subject to grading tier fees. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  16. Hello @Oldbeggar, Thank you for reaching out to us. Due to the damage displayed by the coin, it is unlikely to receive a numerical grade. It may qualify for a Details grade; however, submission and an in-hand evaluation by the grading team would be required to determine this. NGC Coins | Details grading. Keep in mind that in some cases, damage can make a coin difficult to authenticate or grade. When this happens, the coin will be returned raw and ungraded. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  17. Hello @Alpha Hotel April, Thank you for reaching out to us and sharing your images. I am not able to identify or authenticate coins via photos. Obtaining the professional opinion of the NGC grading team requires submission. You can learn more about how to submit coins here: NGC Coins | How to submit. Please remember that submission would require removal from where the coins are currently mounted. We cannot evaluate coins that are mounted into jewelry or other items. You may want to consider having this item reviewed by fellow collectors or local coin dealers. They may be able to provide some guidance. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  18. Hello @Treasure Magnet, Thank you for reaching out to us and sharing your images. I am not able to identify or authenticate coins via photos. Obtaining the professional opinion of the NGC grading team requires submission. You can learn more about how to submit coins here: NGC Coins | How to submit. In cases of unusual finds, you may want to consider having the coin reviewed by fellow collectors or local coin dealers. Unusual coin features may be defects caused by environmental damage. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  19. Hello @Pkirby, Thank you for reaching out to us. The values provided online and in the price guide are not provided by NGC directly. The NGC Coin Price Guide shows average dealer retail prices based on actual, documented transactions and other information reported by third parties (collectors, dealers, and auction houses) for NGC-certified coins. When information is missing or has not been updated, it is because these third parties have not reported new sales data. I appreciate your feedback regarding the information provided, and I will be happy to share your concerns with our management team. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  20. Hello@tmichigan1837, Thank you for contacting us. Yes, you may use NGC photos as long as you provide NGC with photo credit. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  21. Hello @Biker15, Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand that it can be a frustrating experience for a collector or business owner to discover that his or her coin is not eligible for grading. Detrimental surface conditions can make coins impossible to authenticate or grade accurately. These conditions include: Unnatural Coloration Mechanical Damage Environmental Damage PVC Contamination Improper Cleaning Mechanical Repairs Counterfeits Altered Surfaces In some cases, coins with surface conditions may be eligible for details (non-numerical) grading. Determining if a coin is eligible for a details grade is at the graders' discretion. When the graders find evidence of surface conditions and return the coin raw, they will note the surface condition based on this evidence. I am sorry, but additional notes are not available in these cases. If you have submissions that qualify for a refund, I am happy to review them and take care of any outstanding refunds due. I have sent you a direct email in this regard. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
  22. Hello @txboaz55, Thank you for reaching out to us. Please keep in mind that coin attributions are provided at the discretion of the grading team. If you would like to bring a specific VAM, attribute, error, or any other information to the attention of the grading team, you can write notes on your submission form. If you are using the pdf version of the form, there is space next to the mint error check box on the line item for the coin. If you are using the online submission form, you can use any free space and indicate which line item your note references. I suggest using block lettering to ensure the graders can easily read your notes. For the 1878 7TF REV OF 79, a short note of "Rev 79" can suffice. If the graders determine that the coin qualifies for the attribution, it will be provided on the label. When submitting for VarietyPlus, be sure to check our VarietyPlus resource page. This page provides a comprehensive guide to NGC-recognized varieties. Varieties not displayed in the guide, will not be recognized and attributed on the coin's label. I hope this is helpful! If you have any other questions, let us know.
  23. Hello @Joero24, Thank you for contacting us, and I am sorry for this error. An uploading issue can cause images to become offset. This can be particularly difficult to catch when the offset reverse is the same coin type. We can report this issue to our Imaging Department so that they can correct the offset photos. Please provide the coin's certification number, and we will review and correct this. Thank you!
