On to the pinko, commie, rusky find
i remember the hammer and sickle. CCCP? USSR? We did under the desk drills in school, lol. Like that'd help! Anyone remember the collapse of the USSR? No one saw it coming. How the f did that happen? Great documentary about it on YouTube called "hypernormalisation" from 2016. It's bbc so it's neither side. Shows how we got to where we are, going back to Assad and kissinger. @Quintus Arrius remember nyc back then? This documentary shows nyc back then, how the bond sale failed, and how the banks took over Manhattan. It's 3 hours long, but it explained a lot, to this feeble mind.
Cool! Longest post ever? I apologize to all of you reading!

Calm your sweaty little pitts, the finds have arrived.
I see strange stuff all day, it has nothing to do with coins, i just see strange stuff all day. Although this is coin related. I see dumps all the time, but this one is unique.
Elongated quarters, and zincolns from Hershey and Disney. So it's come to this? The junkies are robbing piggy banks and throwing out the real treasures inside? Oh the humanity!
Anybody want em?
*edit
Sorry everyone. I put the feelers out to some friends on CT, and these have been snatched up already.

I found a '64 nickel and bicentennial quarter, today, but since it's been done, i tossed back.

Yes, I own a vending machine company so I see a few "oddities" now and then like the confetti nickel. But most of those I actually did find on the ground, the dime is the weak link so far, that one looks much too good for the set. I'm still on the hunt for a "better" dime and of course the half and dollar, just a fun set to keep the juices flowing.
I can easily replace that dime for you, if you'd like. It'll be clad though, sorry. Just pm me your address and I'll drop one in the mail. It may take a day or two to find the right one, but I'll get one out to you. Have a nice day

I think that's a good candidate for a finalist in the "Bad" Nickel category.
Looks like we may have to select a 3-person panel of "Parking Lot Coin Experts" to judge these. I vote for Coinbuf to be one since he has the OG parking lot set, and CoinJockey73 since all he collects are parking lot coins [duck ... totally kidding].
I certainly appreciate the nod, but I'm in no way qualified to judge anything. And i take zero offense in saying i collect parking lot coins, i do! But I've also found some sweet stuff, too! Life is full of these highs and lows. Very few creamy middles. Enjoy the day, everyone!

I think you have either the "bad" or "ugly" parking lot dime winner so far.
Well, I guess the idea isn't as original as I initially thought. But I wasn't on the board then, and I came up with the short set idea and super catchy set name of "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". Now where is that pat yourself on the back emoji.
People forget, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I for one, think it's a great idea, old, and new. I hope the dime makes the final cut

Funny, all the records I consulted said she was born "deaf and dumb," and was raised in my neighborhood, Forest Hills, which was where "Captain Kangaroo" and "Simon and Garfunkel" and the "Ramones" were from. They were all gone by the time I showed up, graduating from FH HS in 1969.
All well and good, but i believe the biggest question is, did she have a hairy chest?

Third is the one with the hairy chest. Just kidding. I don't know if Helen Keller had a hairy chest. I had no idea she was from Alabama though. I wonder if she had a really thick Alabama accent. Anyway,
Someone call grandpa and tell him that crack head grandson of his stole his proof sets, again! Sold em for dog food! Lol. I'm so funny!
(Look up what slang for dog food is. Little education this morning.)

No, no matter. They most assuredly won't post the one I just sent them! They lack the necessary testicular fortitude. Plain and simple.
Now now now, one must have testicles, first. Nary a testicle in that house.

Don't let my jocularity fool you. I'm quite upset with all of us, as well. And by that, i mean our species. We're repugnant. I luv in what a short period of time, we've displayed how weak we've become. Case in point. Rather take a "selfie", an American word, gross, than let something wild live. Me me me me me. It's always been there, in modern times, but we're doomed because of it. Not in our lifetimes, unless we go nukes, which will then be the ultimate proof of our ultimate stupidity. Sigh. Thanks for coming out! Try the veal!

I am too upset about Norway killing that walrus. A female no less! Time for me to let my view be known at the N Y Times.
Do you post editorials under the same name? I'll be watching!

I’m retired. My usual is the zero hour work day. Yesterday was the 12 hour driving day (with traffic jams, and stops for fuel, food, and umm, personal needs stops.) Included was an hour navigating beeeyoutiful downtown Gary, Indiana because of an I-90 accident. Stopped for a hot dog, iced tea, and fuel fill yesterday near Fort Knox. It smelled like a mix of bluegrass banjos and goldbug tears. Rained like crazy on the Indianapolis beltway.
Thank you! Felt like i was there! Was it a local dog? I hear they vary by region.
I noticed a whiff of the Swiss alps in the tri-state area this morning. Very strange, indeed.

Thanks and I hope your week goes well and you find some great coins. Whenever and if ever I find some cool circulated coins in the wild I will be sure to post them here.
Thank you, as always, my brother. And if you didn't post them here, you know it would crush me, lol. You need to post up more of your collection. Not here! This is the junk thread!

I hate flying. Im very nervous. My 15 year old son is going on a trip to Utah in a few days. Hes in the upward bound program in school and wrote an essay and got picked to go. They only pick a very small number out of around 500 kids. Whoever wanted to go had to write an essay on why they should be picked. He talked about it constantly. He really wanted to go. Hes very religous. He would say his prayers every night and pray to go on the trip to. He ended up getting his wish. Well Im very nervous and have been worrying myself to death about him flying out there. Its got me all tore up. Im not big on him flying. He told me not to worry. Said he trust in the Lord to keep him safe. I trust he will be safe but still worry. I guess thats just part of being a parent. The times I flew I was a nervous wreck.
How'd the trip go? Is there a separate thread about it i missed? Thanks!
