@Quintus Arrius, have i ever told you my theory on coins found in the same day, from the same mint mark, in the same denomination? I think i mentioned it to @Lem E once, this said theory, but maybe not, as it's pretty important, so I've been clandestine about it. Here goes. These two 1943P nickels were minted one right after the other at the Grand Canyon mint, and then separated by cruel fate. I, @CoinJockey73, have brought them back together after a 99 year absence. Reunited, if you will. You're welcome.
a dog.

If this seems phony, it's not. All legit finds, that day.
In change from my local L.H. Martin. Anyone remember those? You have one in Forest Hills growing up @Quintus Arrius?

Well, you certainly lost me there. You were asked to make what is popularly known as a "Hobson's choice": either the clink or Ducats. You said you chose the latter. I believe you meant the former. No matter. I would have done the same. [There are members out there chuckling, "It figgers." Go right ahead. Excuse me while I take that $500. both @CoinJockey73 and I, both would have not squandered and applied it to more practical things.] Welcome back, champ! I like your style. 🐓
Good to see you kicking around as well. And not to correct you but, i did say i chose the "ladder", as in the Jacob's Ladder. And people laugh when i choose incarceration over paying a small fine. It's a paid week off! Away from everything. No car pools, no fake showing up for "work", no nothing. And the excuse is perfect. I couldn't pay the fine because you pay me so little, so you need to pay me to spend the week in jail. Who can argue with that? And style? What style? We can leave it at that.
*edit
How's this for style? How i "store" my "collection".
Easy to move around like this.

Sorry the "official" ANA grading standards for parking lot coins don't allow split-grading.
Good thing i don't know what ANA means!

Is that going in the nickel "Bad" slot or the "Ugly" slot?
Or the reverse could be the "Good" part.

Hmmm, now idk if that entry would make it past Technical Qualification for a "Parking Lot" coin. We're there cars parked in this "yard"?
And having stripes on you isn't the same as having stripes in a parking lot. 😉
Technically, the yard IS a parking lot. They turned the local prison into high rise "luxury apartments" thanks to gentrification, and the current market. Then fenced in a local parking lot for us low maintenance prisoners. Hoping she still qualifies.
*edit
No stripes for me. I told them the alternating black and white pattern pointed out the blatant racism of the US prison system. I'm currently in comfy sweats, and my favorite REO Speedwagon tee.

You can have your cell phone in the pokey that's nice of the guards.
Nowadays? In "Woke Nation"? You kidding me? I've already been approved for "gender reassignment" surgery, which i don't really want, but applied for it on my first day, just to see. It'll be covered 100% by the state, and be completed by the end of my stay, next week. I also demanded that the surgery be performed on a Tuesday, for religious reasons, totally made up, and they agreed without even asking what the religion was. Too ascaird that I'll sue for religious persecution. Also, they're serving me kosher vegan meals that are for lactose intolerants, none of which i am, but I demanded and they complied. Ain't life grand in the new USA?

August 2? @Quintus Arrius, I started this dumpster fire less than 4 weeks ago?! And one of those weeks was spent incarcerated! What fun this thread is, for me as well, don't fret. Hope things are normalizing.
