  1. It is cool looking Greg, but I don't see a match up for it anywhere? It may have had more defined lines years ago but time has taken its toll. Kinda like looking in the mirror nowadays.
  2. Nice coins, Looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you. Good luck
  3. Well she is the one who approves or disapproves toned Morgan's. She is almost always with me at my pickups. So she is part of the collecting. When I am gone it will be her collection..
  4. My wife was a fan of the queen so I picked her up a couple of Bullion coins. She is always been supportive of my coin purchase's I figure she should have a couple of coins just for her.
  5. It also looks like the coin roll machine has done a toll on the cent over the years.
  6. Sorry, I do not see a clash with the photos you have posted.
  7. Do TPG have to have verification paper work to label a variety or will they do it on your say so or if it is obvious ?
  8. Welcome jlksu Are your 2016 30th anniversary sets lettered edges? You have never opened them ?
  9. I can not say if there is a error on this coin . I can say I don't think it left the mint looking like it does now. Someone or something has damaged it.
  10. Perhaps I should have said the dealer was incorrect But I have had a dealer treat me like I had two heads. I wanted to buy 20 random date ASE's and I was taking up there time looking at them with a loupe. My wife was with me and she saw things I missed because I was looking at coins. She was BS and said he was very rude and we would never buy there again. Needless to say that dealer missed out on a lot of Morgan and Nickels sales. So ya dealers can be rude at times.
  11. Sorry to say that dealer was pulling your leg. This coin is damaged . No error. That is what everyone who posted is trying to say.
  12. The new generations do not have to do the things we did. They are safe from sport team rejection, bodily harm or being poisoned. We did all the guinea pig testing in the 50,60, and 70's
  13. No the larger modern sets are not around the antique shops. I think those would be a hard find to pick up for $5
  14. I would think there may be a few out there in collections sitting next to the 1776 continentals
  15. I have a few mint sets and proof sets that I picked up at antique stores. Almost every one of them cost $5 except the silver sets and those were under $20
  16. $70 ..........No way..............You could crack one of your mint sets and send it in cheaper
  17. Sorry I can not tell what it is because there is nothing to reference it to? I know it is a quarter but where is this chip on the coin....
  18. Toning looks like stains when you magnify it up close.
  19. Not bad for bank roll coins. Just some tone after kicking around for 60 years. I think they are nice looking coins for the circulation book. I just wanted to be sure they were not proofs. Thanks Guys
  20. Yay Bill, you got your Bicentennial cent
  21. Thanks for your thoughts VKurtB It is just a old coin book, but still I would like it to be regular circulation strike coins.
  22. It is a stormy rainy day today . I was going through some of the nicer looking nickels I have saved to put in the coin books. These three coins look too nice. They look like old circulated proofs to me from the looks of the rims. I am always testing my numismatic observations and there are lots of friends here to help keep me in check So if anyone else thinks the same feel free to post your thoughts?
  23. I try to work with dealers whenever possible and then to the auctions for the stuff I can't find with them.
  24. I have been on the hunt for a nice looking 1955 for the set a while now. They are not easy to come by and FS coins are big bucks. I think this one will work out just fine. Hopefully it will not not take a down turn like the 1954 did.
