It is a good looking 62 it looks better than any of my 62's We cannot see the coin in hand, but I think if you send it out for a regrade you would lose the DMPL.

My scale is actually not cheap at all, and it’s fairly accurate. It has the 50.00g weight that I use to calibrate every time. They say to use scales that weigh to at least a tenth (0.1) so I would say that my scale is pretty good….
I have a scale just like yours Haydeen and it works fine. The coins are never the same weight all the time they can go up or down. I roll hunt all the time looking for nice coins to fill coin folders because I like doing it and finding an error coin is like trying to win Powerball. It is not easy to know what to look for even if you find some minor pieces it is still fun. Just don't expect to find the unicorn in your pocket. We had a post of a 92 CAM last week so yes there are some keepers still, but the odds are very high on not finding them.

Yes, a normal cent.

Because it has been sand blasted?

Why is it not a regular strike?

Yes, we know there is a lot of fabrication about the 64 SMS. It will be debunked eventually.

Oh and you forgot to mention the Special Strike and Proof coins.
I did say 1964 proofs after that it is 65 SMS 66 SMS and 67 SMS and in reality, the 1965 SMS was made in 1966. Also a SMS is not like a proof it is just special. LoL

There are supposedly some graded, but they are just first strike 1964 coins

Ok that’s fine I see what your saying, I guess just asking because I do believe I have one that’s why I asked
Well if you had one that would be almost as good as a 1943 copper or a 1982 D sd copper.

You will have to read up on the coin in question, I agree with Roger on this one , there is no 1964 SMS...... There was circulation and proof coins struck.in 1964. Dig deep and you may find an answer, But I think not.

It looks like a nice coin to put in a folder but it would not be worth the cost to send it in for grading.

I strongly suspect misconduct by mint personnel.
I agree, sounds like an inside job to me. Sorry Youngmoola I have to say that 89 looks like a zincon to me with those blisters and lines.

$600 dang. If posable, can we see a nice shot preferably cropped of the obverse of this piece.

[Quick face-saving edit: NGC & PCGS both authenticate, grade, certify and encapsulate foreign coins. (Now aren't you sorry you threw away all those possibly rare, MS, foreign coins you found in your roll-hunting activities?
🤣
I do save the foreign stuff I find, but I do not send any coins out to be graded. I let others spend their money on that.

Just wanting to warn anyone with an ebay account that within the past week or so your shipping address may have defaulted to a prior address if you have an old one on file. I would immediately check your info and make sure any purchases you have made within the last week are going to the correct address. I am not the only person this has happened to. What a disaster.
Did you get your coin?

I agree this is not a dd,

If you are new to collecting, you may be better off to get a graded coin. The biggest reason is that way you are not taking a chance on authenticity.
